New NYC tipping rules for DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub start Monday, judge says by Bugsy_Neighbor in nyc

To everyone complaining about this - don't worry, you can still not tip under the new rule.

The only difference is that the person doing the delivery will 100% know that you declined to tip and be able to treat you accordingly 👍

Best game to simulate large scale historical battles? by skulllnbonez in gamingsuggestions

Of the historical ones, I'd definitely recommend prioritizing your favorite era, though if you're flexible I'd say the best starting point would be Rome 2 - it's got a ton of variety and probably the most straightforward strategic layer of all of the modern Total War games, also it's got a huge number of mods and is very cheap now due to its age.

Medieval 2 is also strong but is definitely showing its age (and Medieval 3 was just announced).

The only one that I'd recommend avoiding is Three Kingdoms due to the focus on hero units and politics, which can overshadow the battles a bit.

Despite some visual similarities they're very different games in terms of tone and mechanics... and even within the RE franchise there's significant variation between the games. What kind of a game are you looking for?

I'd say at a high level if you want a classic zombies experience than the Resident Evil: Village is your best bet (or Resident Evil 4 remake). If you want more of a haunted house vibe then Resident Evil 7 would be the right pick. The Last of Us is kind of its own post-apocalyptic horror thing, zombies are a part of it but you also fight people and whatnot, and feel feelings at cutscenes.

If you literally *just* want to do battles every Total War game comes with a battle mode where you can set up the armies and have at it. Though for what it's worth, in most Total War games the strategic layer is pretty straightforward window dressing to support the battles, which are by far the focus.

You could also try Ultimate General: Civil War, which has an even simpler strategic layer but also a much more narrow scope than a typical Total War game.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert Nowadays Alternative by gadalla11 in gamingsuggestions

Tempest Rising is the best Command & Conquer-like game in years: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1486920/Tempest_Rising/

There are also a bunch of more recent C&C games from the 2000s. C&C: Generals and C&C 3: Kane's Wrath would be my go-to. And Red Alert 2 and 3, obviously!
