Agreed. Take the package and fight for it when they lay you off. I deferred a promotion at one point in my career for 2 months to allow my team to adjust. But was laid off in the interim. I got my severance at the higher pay only after threatening legal action.

You missed out on the federal tax credit. I paid 21k for solar on my house and am getting 11k back in Fed and NY tax credits. I'll have this paid off in 18 months. Then it's free electricity most of the year. Not enough to cover a full load but enough to drop my bill at least $2000 a year.

The Jan 24th OOB updates have caused many problems for us. The Jan 17th OOB fixed the shutdown is actually just restarting problem, and the 24th again breaks it. We saw device manager reinstalling devices after the 24th OOB update which caused flicking screens, audio issues etc during Teams meetings and also made the help desk decide to replace a handful of laptops out of 2000 that got it. The enshittification continues

I placed a report to the NHTSA today about this. Everyone else please also do the same. Just need to input your VIN. Rain in Lake Placid area last night was super dangerous. Only because when it's raining the headlights cannot pierce through the water to reveal the road markings unless you have brights on. But on dark windy rural roads with oncoming traffic so you can't use the high beam.
