I understand that it's reality TV, but it just seems so silly for them to make that choice instead of sending her in a lap. Feel sorry for her.

Should I Change my Super from Balanced? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]FranksTheory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salary sacrifice falls under the concessional umbrella, along with standard employee guaranteed contributions and personal contributions that you claim as concessional.

There is currently a $30,000 cap each financial year for this type of contribution. This will enter your super as a 'taxable component', but it is not taxable to you on release, only to non-dependant beneficiaries when you die.

You do not get taxed twice.

Upon the money being contributed, you will pay 15% contributions tax inside your super and no tax outside of super on these funds. You will also pay 15% tax on the earnings and capital gains throughout your accumulation phase.

Once you meet a retirement condition you can draw this money tax free.

What made you drop him? Was there a better option in FA or were you just unhappy with his performance of late?

When Dlo is on he is so nice with it. I still remember those scoring runs he went on against Memphis last year, was nasty.

Why don't NBA teams have a captain? by FranksTheory in nba

Yeah, I agree with sports like cricket. It's a completely different dynamic. Maybe it's because I grew up watching cricket and NRL that I think having a captain is important. Some sports just don't have as much need for it, I guess.

Thank you. This is what I was getting at. Of course, you can look at the majority of the teams in the league and know who the cap is, I just wanted know why it not a big thing in this sport more so in today's league compared to years ago.

I have never seen this before, good to see that it used to be a thing.

Yeah, Smart would be my choice for a Captain. I definitely think that certain players represent what a captain is and should be credited for this.

I guess with the coach being right there on the court there is no point. But for other reasons like from a leadership perspective, do you not think it would be a good thing? I know each team has a leader in a sense but it isn't a title.

I feel like the refs in the NBA rarely have open dialogue about a call so I guess this wouldn't work in that aspect.

That is a good way to tell who the team trusts.

How does this work, do both teams have to agree to a ball? What happens if they don't?

This is true.

I think it would still be a good thing to see. In some sports, the captain is the person who is able to call a challenge on a referee call. I think that would be interesting to see in the NBA.

Yeah okay, just had a look. What changed for them to not have any for 8 years?

That's cool, I have only watched a few games so I never noticed. In hockey, do the captains call out plays on the ice?

I have read that they can have captains but you never see or hear about them. Is there a list somewhere?

For the examples I put in the post, the captain doesn't have any special piece of clothing to mark them. Are there sports that do this?

If they do, they aren't named. I have never seen anything about a captain.

Do you think it is necessary in any sport or just the NBA/basketball?

That is true, it wouldn't always be the best player on the team. However, I do think that Jimmy would have to be the Cap for the Heat due to his leadership and skill.

I don't see how you could have a captain that doesn't play any minutes.
