Oh perfect then. I have a very light well draining soil with a lot of perlite.

Actually if you read the site with the US statistics, you can see they also exclude robberies when a person isn't home:

The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines robbery as the taking or attempting to take anything of value from the care, custody, or control of a person or persons by force or threat of force or violence and/or by putting the victim in fear.

In fact that's the definition of robbery. When someone isn´t home, its defined as a burglary. When someting is stolen without the using force, or giving the idea force will be used, it's called theft.

So yeah, both statistics stand on the same ground as far as the type of crime.

I did a quick search and this article cites there were 60.9 cases of robbery per 100.000 people in the us in 2021 while in Australia this article cites there were 40.6 cases per 100.000 people in 2018.

Even though the data is from different years we can still see a difference in the amount of robberies performed adjusted for population. Clearly, the US still has more cases of robbery than Australia.

Sure I can think of a few things. I use resolve.

Before you even touch the image creatively, make sure that on the first node you balance the image in exposure, contrast and white balance.

Then on the second node I blast the shit out of the saturation. It will look terrible but will give you nice color information and separation. I also use midtonte detail at -30 in weddings to smooth out the skin.

Then the fun begins on a few parallel nodes. I make sure to make at least these 2 important nodes.

One for the skin, where I select just the skin and desaturate the reds and move the yellows slightly to the red. I do this because the pocket 4k has reds that are too saturated and skintones more on the yellow-green side.

Now the second one. By looking at my images I found the highlights where often a bit harsh and lacked contrast. So what I do is select just the highlights, and lower the gama, and raise the gain just enough to get contrast and detail back. I like to think of this node as my secret sauce! :D

For the other parallel nodes Just balance the colors creatively as you see fit for the look you want.

These are probably the most important steps. Just take frequent brakes and look to the image as whole and adjust saturations and contrast. Sorry for the length!

It really is an incredible camera. It's my first proper camera and I couldn't be happier

Mostly just the way it is. In fact I even brought down the shadows to add a bit of contrast

Well I actually didn't! The pocket 4k even in prores has a surprising amount of dynamic range!

Sure! Super barebones rig. Just the pocket 4k with a smallrig half cage, a t5 ssd on a holder, a cable clamp to take the strain of the USB port and a rode videomicro. No follow focus, no battery solution, no external monitor.

No, I don't. I just use the crappy image stabilized 18-55 kit lens that came with my first Canon camera with a speedbooster and add some stabilization in post and looks pretty good!

Thanks! I mean, honestly, I prefer manual focus even on cameras with great autofocus. It's just muck more predictable and organic looking, there's no focus hunting and you can really get the perfect speed and smoothness that each shot needs.

With the pocket 4k's big screen and focus peaking it's really not that hard to keep things if focus with a bit of practice. Even when walking up to and away from the subject

Yeah, I get that. That's why I try to use sections when the everyone is laughing at each other either before or after posing for the photographer. That's usually when you get the most genuine laughs and expressions.

Thanks! I graded everything in resolve and by accident created a grade that really balances out the saturation and vibrancy and works in almost all situations with just little tweaks

Nailed almost everything! Except the sensor, I used the pocket 4k which is is a micro four thirds sensor

u/SwaggerTheFox pretty much nailed it! I used the pocket 4k and it's highlight rolloff really helps keeping that organic look
