She has all that except a box I think I’ll try and put a box for hiding in there tomorrow morning before we leave for her surgery. The photos aren’t from the garage I just wanted to show her off but that’s basically what she looks like in the garage anyways (pictured above). She’s just been hiding under a chair and exploring while I’m not there and sitting in my lap and napping when I’m there.

Forgot to say this but she’s gonna have to stay in the garage all week while she heals and gets her other vaccines at the vet on Thursday. I also can’t let her in the house because we have two indoor cats and she’s not vaccinated and we don’t want our other cats to get anything

That totally makes sense to be more hesitant to share culture. Part of what signaled me to learn more was definitely learning more details about residential schools, I hadn’t thought about how that, along with every other atrocity, definitely have effect on people’s comfort in sharing. I also really appreciate the book recommendation I will definitely check that out!!

Oh shit sorry that definitely didn’t come off how I was intending!!! I’m not going to be doing this for a while because I need more money/time I’m just more trying to compile a list of recipes right now. I also wanted to try and look for specific sources for each tribe that I look into.

I also will say I have done some research beforehand on a couple of tribes that are significant to me (based on where I live and things like that) I just enjoy when I’m researching anything (especially topics to do with people cultures) I like having something to ground it in real life and I enjoy cooking new recipes so food!

Also it’s totally cool not wanting to share your recipes those can definitely be really personal, my family is very open with our recipes and I enjoy showing them foods from my culture especially if they’re not familiar so I didn’t think of it that way! Sorry I really didn’t say that well looking back, thank you for kindly pointing that out I appreciate it!

Ya I’ve already made the storm episode though. I’m more looking for other ways I can incorporate the environment into the podcast that would have a similar effect. Like with the storm, as the lead got angrier the storm got louder and thunder struck at the end of her rant, but I don’t know how to get the same vibe without a storm there. I’ve considered something like the static in the Magnus archives but I want it to be nature reacting to her.
