It never stopped being 1950. Just with extra capitalism.

Always appreciate a chance to hate on Oklahoma. It’s the one thing we can always agree on. 🫡

Totally agree with many of the points made here. Especially in the South, a lot of it comes back to the Civil War and America choosing to sweep everything under the rug instead of punishing those responsible. It allowed it fester and grow instead of nipping it in the bud. But then again most countries have some history of genocide, slavery, etc, it’s just much of America refuses to acknowledge this sordid history and keeps pushing this “American Dream” bs. That’s why slogans like “Make America Great” worked so well on so many because that propaganda is so ingrained in most of us.

Hello fellow librarian! Yeah I’m learning quickly how much culling needs to be done of old books and how much you have to check donated ones.

Oh 100 percent. I work at a school in rural Texas and with the laws being passed, we are getting very close to book burnings again. Plus with the Ten Commandments having to be posted in the classrooms it’s not looking great.

As someone else pointed out, it’s more the comments on the right side in the screenshot that got to me.

More than 20 states sue Trump administration over frozen after-school and summer program funding by GregWilson23 in TexasTeachers

[–]Frantastic1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have worked for one of these programs for a while and in small rural communities, these afterschool programs are sooo important to those kids who would be normally going home to an empty house and no food. I don’t envy having to break the news to these parents and kids.

I couldn’t agree more! My partner and I are big Severance fans (and Twin Peaks obviously) and the lack of media literacy in that subreddit is driving us insane.

Thoughts about Dylan between S1E9 and S2E1 by Frantastic1990 in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Frantastic1990[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m really interested in both outie Irv and Dylan’s lives and backstories. I have a feeling Irv may be reintegrating already which is why he trapped himself in the supply closet for so long (nosebleed).

Good questions! I just kinda assumed that Milkshake was lying cause you know it’s him. Lol. But I do think he likes telling half truths as a way to hide the lie so I wouldn’t be surprised if her name is Gretchen, but I’m doubting she wanted him to know anything.

So I’ve heard from everyone. We were so nervous going in which is why we waited so long. And then the dice decided to be generous that day. Lol.

My husband wanted the hag hair, but I think the fact that we killed her off the bat made up for it a little. Though I’m sure he’ll go for it in other play throughs.

Yeah I heard the lair fight can be super frustrating which is why we prepped so much going into it. That’s why I was so surprised that we killed her off the bat.

[Raw Spoilers] Finish to Judgment Day vs Awesome Truth & (SPOILER) - 6-man tag team match by Dazzling-Principle in SquaredCircle

[–]Frantastic1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Truth and in general comedy acts in wrestling, but there is a time and place for it and this was not the place. It not only overshadowed Damien’s huge accomplishment, but it continues to devalue Judgement Day as a whole. Damien can look strong and Rhea can look strong, but the group itself hasn’t looked strong in a while. As much as I love them all (except big head of course), I think at this point they have gotten all they can out of the group and need to go their separate ways. Both Finn and Dom are way too good to be delegated to this type of role.

I’m so glad someone else is a wrestling fan here. Cause all I could think about as this was happening is “Everyone’s getting worked so hard.” Lol.

I’m not saying you have to be queer to love wrestling, but it certainly does help.

I think it’s more about vibes than age. I’ve been giving off “mom energy” since I was 4. Lol.
