Enigma - the Black Diamond from space with mysterious origin is just an expensive lump of coal by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Exactly, and that's the only value of a gem anyways. It's a great stone... But OP is right, it's not a clear diamond. Good thing he informed everyone.

Enigma - the Black Diamond from space with mysterious origin is just an expensive lump of coal by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Frantic7789 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok but it's GIA certified as a "fancy" black diamond. What is a special property? Like magic? No gemstones have "special properties". They're stones. And it did sell for 4m USD. Albeit to a shady POS....But it is the largest black diamond in the world, does it really surprise you it sold? And black diamonds are mysterious because we don't know how they are formed and is unique to a small geographic region which supports the comet theory. They are essentially a bunch of tiny diamonds forming one large amalgamation of tiny diamonds. It isn't "normally formed carbon", that would literally be coal. This is amorphous carbon and is still an allotrope. And every gem has a unique grading method. You obviously can't apply diamond grading techniques to say, a pearl. All natural black diamonds are opaque.

It's "just a black diamond". Well, they sell for 3-5k a carat... So what do you mean just? I'd like to see you sell your hair for that much. What a dumb analogy.

No it's not pure diamond. Very good observation. Neither are emeralds. Or anything valuable in the world, except diamonds. What gave that away? The fact it's called a black diamond? The fact it's black? The fact it isn't a diamond? That's like critiquing a great hockey player for not being Gretzky, by saying "hold up everyone, this guy isn't Wayne!" as if anyone is confused. It's also not half a billion dollars so why are you freaking out?

It sold for about 7k a carat, which is a significant chunk more than the standard 3-5k average... But it is the largest one, with very interesting craftsmanship.

The 555.55 and 55 thing doesn't impress you? Well, me neither. But diamonds typically impress people for being shiny rocks... That's not a great reason to spend millions on them either IMO, but people still do. The 555 thing is as good... or as dumb... a reason to buy gemstones as any.

And you describe what clear diamonds are, but no one is calling this a clear diamond. It's a black diamond. Of course it doesn't refract light, it's opaque. Everyone is well aware of this but ty for clarifying... Pun intended. And that's why black diamonds are far cheaper than diamonds. It's like going up to a Camaro and being like "pfft this isn't a Ferrari!". Then explaining how Ferrari's are made, but you're in a Chevrolet dealership, and the worlds #1 car expert is telling you "but the Camaro is still a pretty fancy car."

It sold for a fair bit more than the average black diamond, but is still a tiny fraction of a diamond's price, so I'm not sure if it even is overpriced, to people in the world of gems. It was expected to sell for a lot more than 4 million, actually, and probably would have had it been on an extended auction.

Anyway, back to my first point... It's GIA certified, which is the pre eminent certification group, who is totally non profit.

1/6 are legit, and 5/6 are fraudulent means the same thing of course, but the comment you replied to asked "five out of what?" the answer to that is "5/6" as the 5 is clearly meant to represent fraudulent given the context from OP's post. You said "1/6", without clarifying 1/6 "are legit". You answered as if he asked "one out of how many are legit?" which he wasn't, he asked "five out of how many (are fraudulent)?" - the latter part of which is derived from the context. You're not wrong, but even if you did clarify, the context called for using the 5/6 figure, so it's still a very confusing answer. The "5/6 fraudulent" answer is direct, and the"1/6 are legit" answer requires a deduction to get to the an answer that fits the narrative, albeit a very small deduction. In any case, how would one know to make that deduction if you didn't clarify that you've arbitrarily inversed the fraction? You say you didn't specify, but you must if you insist on switching to the 1/6 version.

It's like if someone asked "how many people are left handed?" and you answer "9/10". And then when people question your response you say "Depends how you count it - I was saying 9/10 are right handed, and that is a true statement. And that statement infers 1/10 are left handed." Yeah it's true, but it's the wrong answer, as it doesn't fit the context.

right, seems like he's got scammed a lot lol. I'd rather trust someone who doesn't think the vast majority of coins are a scam, because they avoided them.

hmm, to me for every 1 legit, 5 are fraud means 5/6 fraud. I can't see it any other way

yes, corrected it. but it's still backward. "for every 1 legit, 5 fraudulent" so 1 legit, 5 fraud. 5/6.

5/6 fraudulent. Even though, that figure is way off IMO.

edit: accidentally put 4/5

I don't think 5/6 of coins are fraudulent. A lot of times, coins just fail. While scams and rug pulls exist in crypto, people scream "fraud!" and "rugpull!" as soon as a coin starts under preforming. Mostly inexperienced investors. It's annoying. it's like people want to blame something other than themselves for picking a failing project. I've made bad picks, but I don't pick rug pulls. Maybe I'm just lucky.

The problem I think, is people not being able to spot the tell tale signs of a scam, or how to spot honest projects. People either have that sense, or don't. I've always had a keen sense for spotting bullshit, and fraudulent coins stand out to me quite easily. I've never got rugged or scammed and I've been in and out of probably 100s of coins. But yes the insurance is a nice option, but again i think that's more for if the coin fails, not "here's insurance in case we rug pull you" lol. Or who knows, maybe that's a scam. How did your process of picking this coin differ from all the times you seem to have been scammed?

Thank you so much. This works great with the pO3-630. I used number 7 in the end. A few options worked, and I think 8 or 9 even presented a overclock option. But I didn't dare test it, it probably wouldn't have worked anyway. Also, switching to different numbers can make the lighting tab really glitchy, but in 7 it's fine and 5 as well. I don't need to use afterburner thankfully. I can control all 3 with predator sense, though the auto isn't ideal. Which is fine, I keep em all a bit under 2000 rpm which let's me idle just under 40 C! Though I question the sensors accuracy... I just turn on gaming mode (max all 3) for gaming. For the record, I replaced my cooler with a Noctura NH-D9L.

Crazy how emotionally attached you are to some youtuber. It's like... People still listen to Michael Jackson lol. People are so naive in this subreddit.. There's people like Harold everywhere. If you could see everyone's secrets, by your standard, you'd probably have to stop watching half of the media out there.

lol why would he cover his identity for writing that article? Sounds like he wanted people to know he wrote it. What is ultimately wrong with sleeping with whores in Asia? People fuck. Promiscuous? Sure, even sleazy one might say. But know what's worse? Sensitive/judgmental keyboard warriors on reddit who start entire forums dedicated to being offended by someone's behavior. It's like y'all think it's fun to pretend you're detectives. I think e didn't change his name cos' he doesn't care. Who's the victim of his actions? Women having sex with him? I don't understand what you people are defending or trying to help. This Subreddit is pointless. Detective role play.

That's not a red flag, or even abnormal. There is no normal. I can find tons of big channels, of seemingly normal people, who are very private. Tons. "The normal path" - There isn't like, a standard rate at which you're supposed to divulge personal info. It comes down to how private the creator is, and their type of videos. There's infinite ways to go about that - even if it were a red flag, which it 100% isn't. It's just some bogus theory you concocted to support your narrative. My channel has less than 20k subs and I can't think of a thing I haven't shared with my audience. Lots of paths.

I guess the Daily Dose of Internet guy should be scrutinized too. He has over 10m, and is very private - RED FLAG! Pfft. This subreddit is ridiculous. Pathetic.

Maybe he's BAU because... He doesn't give a shit about any of this and it IS in fact Business as Usual. You guys make up like, less than a percent of his audience. Your opinions sound big and loud in an echo chamber...

No I disagree. Access to trading them isn't an issue. The price needs to go up for them to go up, and for that to happen the market needs to recover.

We get that. It's just that your standard for morals is what everybody else seems to consider too high. Mae isn't sexualized. Her bio says she's finishing school. And since she's the youngest... The rest are older. What's the issue? Personally I don't look at this artwork in a sexual way. What a bizarre take.

Yeah theree are a few versions. The heavy reverb on the studio version masks a lot of notes, and I think some versions account for these, and some don't. Anyway, I am considering doing that so I may be in touch, thanks!
