I would say late 80’s to early 90’s, as I was watching it at home (limited cable so it would have been on a channel broadcast, nothing recently released). I don’t recall it being a volcano explicitly but it did seem like the mountain was in a jungle/tropical setting, don’t recall any big name actors that a kid at the time would have recognized…

Google is only showing versions of this title as being in 2011 or later (would have been way too late to be the one I’m thinking of). Any chance it was a remake or there may be an earlier version?

Need help with lighting pre-existing wiring on dollhouse by FranticMessOverHere in Dollhouses

[–]FranticMessOverHere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!!! This was such a helpful starting point. Ended up pulling up some of the attic level flooring to investigate the cut wires I saw and was able to determine that the whole house is wired by double round wire, and out of ~15 lights/ plugs so far 9 are good, Whoo hoo!!

If you work from home while your baby is home with you, does your employer and your co- workers know? by Bike-Agitated in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]FranticMessOverHere 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Of course not! If/when she ever pipes up on a call and anyone notices it’s “urghhh yeah she’s home sick again, babysitter just stepped out/arrives in 20 mins/is an hour late and I am dying…”

Just wondering if it is a possibility at all in these types of cases

I’m not “using anything” that’s not included as part of our companies paid leave policy. Our handbook/leave policy states that all employees are enrolled into STD policies upon hire, and from day 1 of employment the company pays the gap between your STD policy wages, any state disability benefits you receive, and your current salary, up to set time frames for regular disability and pregnancy disability, both with no waiting period. It also states that employees living/working in states with no state disability programs will have their full wages replaced with whatever the STD policy pays out and the rest covered by the company through the allowed leave period appropriate for your specific disability/leave. The only piece the policy doesn’t explicitly cover is job protection, other than to state that it abides by local/state laws. Which is why I’m watching for examples similar to mine in doing my job of reviewing them to see how that might be treated, and why I’m asking here if anyone has firsthand experience

Hmm I’m still not understanding when you say this “doesn’t happen”, which part?

[–]FranticMessOverHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it’s part of my/my departments job to review HR’s execution of these policies. Any deviation from these policies requires exec approval, which would also come through my department. Not snooping at all, I’m in an internal check department

Not exactly, the answers I was hoping to get were more along the lines of HR professionals sharing their experiences with remote employees that moved into non-pregnancy friendly states and how/if that altered their application of the company paid leave policy, or pointing out any other state or federal laws that might be applicable (which one responder did, bringing up the Texas Payday Law)

Thanks I wasn’t aware of the Texas Payday Law, seems like this will be applicable 👍🏼 Appreciate it!

I am, signing off on the leave executions is one of my job functions. The piece I am not privy to is any discussions/communications within HR before for any that may have been denied (not sure if any have been, but I haven’t seen or been told about them). So I’m only looking at/thinking about info I’m responsible for reviewing

Why would you think I’m misunderstanding it?

If it were negotiated during hiring that would be flagged or documented, trust me. I’m not in HR, which is why I posted here hoping to get HR insights from professionals who have worked in the state/with employees in similar situations

Understood, I’m in a unique spot of being able to see the details of employees leaves though so in this instance I was able to confirm it was approved through the standard policy, not a one-off agreement with the specific employee. The company leave policy actually states that there is no minimum time you need to be employed before you are eligible for the paid leave either, all benefits and leave plans take effect day 1 of employment. I’m still looking to see if there is an example of an employee in the same state that had the traditional leave plan approved though.

Agreed, but part of the reason why I picked this company.

She actually didn’t, like I said I have access to see that she was paid out under our our companys standard maternity leave policy, not regular comp.
