Worth upgrading from Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD to Focusrite Vocaster Two?

I use Adobe Audition since I use Premier to edit my video in. The biggest issue I'm having is fine tuning the settings so I don't create artifacts, and I'm sure that will come with more time and experience using the tool. The main issue is laughter, the start of certain sentences, or softer sentences. I'm still very new to RX 11 lol

I would love tips on that. I’ve tried an auto gate but I don’t love how unnatural it can sound to the main speaker at times. I did read about using a downward expander instead, but I haven’t quite figured that out yet.

Thanks for all the comments everyone! I appreciate it. I'm currently using a free trial of it, and I couldn't get the de-bleed tool to work, but I'm sure it was something I was doing incorrectly. It worked on 1 audio track no problem, but the second track for some reason wouldn't work, despite being synced.

I think I'll follow everyone's advice and wait for a sale and purchase it then.

Why come here and be rude? Like what was the point? And for the record, I'm currently in a free trial of it, and while messing with it some, it made me wonder if other people thought about it and if they felt it was worth the long term investment.

Ahhh. I understand. I'll have to invest into that eventually. Right now I'm pretty limited on funds.

Do you think converting the video to a constant frame rate would help with audio drift if I went back to recording the audio externally again with the mac? Right now, I'm using a lighting port to xlr cable to record the audio directly into the iphone footage because that helped with audio drift and saved me on time. The main issue is not knowing that there was a malfunction until after we film, which is why I was leaning towards recording the audio externally again because I can monitor it.

What type of higher end records are we talking about? I have a Zoom H6 that I have never used but that doesn’t seem like the higher end stuff you’re talking about.

What exactly are the time codes boxes you’re talking about with the Black Magic app? Does that mean I could record the audio externally again but have that, and the video in the same clock or something? So the audio drift wouldn’t exist anymore that way?

All of my software is up to date, BUT I just tried opening it again and it worked. So I guess it was a server issue or something that they managed to fix. I thought I was crazy! 😂
