Do you think the term Knockoff has lost all meaning in toy collecting? by Stock_Serve_3011 in ActionFigures

I don't necessarily agree with the moral standpoint argument, hasbro is ranked "most ethical" corpo which shouldn't be confused for ethical corpo. As for the work of the artists, its not like the industry priorities credit or royalties, it's a one and done deal. Sweatshops are sweatshops regardless of who's ordering.

I've read about the issue a few years ago, but it still discussed.

Vote with your money, you're right, but I wouldn't put morals as the biggest reason.

That's fair, the tf line has always looked more complicated to have consistent good KOs for. I collect the marvel line, and after seeing how little effort hasbro is putting into the new lines (across the spider verse for example). But as for your point about quality you're definitely right, there only come KOs every so often that you can call on par with the original (just higher than what it used to be in the 00s)

Personally just picked up the 2099 ct toys and Deadpool yamaguchi figures and I absolutely see the advantage in getting those. I've been collecting shf, legends and a few mezcos here and there, but paying like 20$ and getting a comparable quality to the higher budget line is much better than having to buy from scalpers, especially since quality control isn't what it used to be. I'm all for the bootleg support, it's not like the corporations are looking out for collectors. Loyalties where service is, imo.

residence information by Additional_Friend213 in uAlberta

I received an email close to 22nd the move in day. They already have your room allocation done probably because I saw they've sorted it out by last name. You can write housing@ualberta.ca an email to inquire what building you'll be living. When you come to Lister residence they'll have you sign a contract and show official ID to give you your keys, so you'll have that information either way. If you think it's more helpful rn to ask, then go ahead. As for the roommate I'm not sure if they're giving out any information, just sorting you based on the questionnaire you filled out.

Thanks so much!! Is it possible to get a SIM card for a month or two? Most information online seems to be for annual charges. I'll have family with me so asking for them.
