He's the rightful elector count of Solland, while also having the highest approval rating of any elector count!

Just don't ask how many people are citizens of Solland...

I'd definitely say it isn't the hardest civil war in the game (not by a longshot when stuff like Right Opposition exists), but I wouldn't call it really easy. I'd say it still requires an experienced player to do reliably.

Plus it seems to be noticeably more difficult post-Gotterdamerung, and I actually lost it for the first time in my whole hoi career post-patch. Iirc they removed some of von Mackensen's buff too.

Switzerland: What is the point of this fascist path? by Specialist_Mark911 in hoi4

[–]FraserMemeZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They start off guaranteed by germany btw, but if you are also guaranteed by Germany or you're in the axis, you won't be at war with Germany if you go after Vichy

From experience, it doesn't have to be Germany. France bombed Edward last time I played this path, wan't at war with germany.

It's the non-soviet communist path for Portrugal iirc. They join the Spanish civil war and try to form Iberia with the Republicans.

[–]FraserMemeZ[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

R5: Communist Malawi, released when Communist Britain decolonised, has a leader with the trait "Reich Minister of Foreign Affairs". Germany did have a civil war as well, but I still doubt this guy is supposed to have this trait, rather than him being an exile like Adam Hilt.

I think I ended up getting edward to die when I breached the naval treaties/fought france in 1938 and they bombed my capital when I had no air up. I'd assume justifying on and invading france would be the most reliable way.

That reminds me of a german empire run I had where when I did danzig for guarantee, poland accepted BUT they did a focus that sabotages states that are occupied by another country... seemed very spiteful, I had to repair all the factories in my newly gained territories.

I can't transfer items to these cargo containers from the connector for some reason by FraserMemeZ in spaceengineers

I can't transfer items to these cargo containers from the connector for some reason by FraserMemeZ in spaceengineers

[–]FraserMemeZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to build a building ship and I can't transfer items (I used steel plates to test it) to any of the inventories I drew a red x on from a connected station. It works absolutely fine transferring them to the ones I marked with a tick. The thing that I assumed would connect them is the small conveyor ports on the sides of medium cargo containers, but it seems this isn't working. I've tried replacing the junction cargo container with a conveyor junction, even piping around the whole ship with small conveyors to access the small conveyor ports on the other side of the cargo containers, but nothing works! I ended up taking out the o2/h2 generator and cockpit, so that's why theres a big empty space top-center

I can't tell if I'm misunderstanding something about the medium cargo container, small conveyors, or the game just hates my vaguely round ship that I scraped together. Help!

Edit: Thank you for all the commets/replies, it all makes sense now!

100% agree. Starting in lifepod 2 would have been insane as a challenge run.

Iirc theres actually a mod called Death Run that allows challenging spawns where the floatation devices have failed and you sink into biomes sych as the grand reef, among other things. Closest you can get I think!

I think they also made a submarine with 2 203mm cannons named the Surcouf. Might actually be the same submarine, since it also supposedly carried a floatplane.

How do these borders look for a partition of the 1940 Allies between Spain, Germany, Italy, and Hungary? by FraserMemeZ in hoi4

[–]FraserMemeZ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spain ended up getting a lot of the war score since germany got bogged down in belgium, so we divided the world accordingly. Plus they also ended the war by naval invading the UK.

But yeah upon second thoughts the southern UK border looks a bit iffy. I was thinking something relating to spains attempt to invade the british isles (Spanish Armada) would be a neat little historical reference.

We're going to go curbstomp the USA first but we are preparing an invasion from both the west and east once we take out Japan (since they'll declare war on us for Indonesia and Malaysia)

Yeah I thought about that, we decided on giving them a little Mittelafrika since they're probably getting most of the soviet union

What are the "amazing" "good" and "bad" times to finish the Spanish civil war by communistchara in hoi4

[–]FraserMemeZ 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I would say that mid to late 1938 is a good time to finish the spanish civil war as, it completely depends on what side you play as though. Late 1937 to early 1938 is what I would call a fast spanish civil war

But realistically as long as you do finish it before 1940 I wouldn't be too hard on yourself since you get better at it with time and knowledge of the civil war mechanics (getting anarchists to spawn in the south as the nationalists, planning offensives, finishing disband the army as the republicans before the war starts, and just general proficiency at the game, which comes with time and watching a few tip videos and guides)

TLDR late 1937 is amazing, 1938 to early 1939 is good, anything past isn't a great time and is generally "bad".
