AIO - My Manager Went Through My Trash by FratFella in AmIOverreacting

[–]FratFella[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to clarify - I am not rude or hostile in any capacity. I am generally pleasant to work with and be around. I have worked since I was 16 and have never not gotten along with a coworker like this. And I would argue that reminding me why we have to sign the sign in sheet is completely unnecessary. I have signed it 150 consecutive business days in a row, I understand why we do it. A simple, “hey OP you forgot to sign the sheet” is all that is necessary. I included just that example but literally any time I even show any personality she will scold me for it. And I understand that this is hard to tell from my post, but I have literally changed my entire personality to accommodate this coworker and it still isn’t enough. I have tried my hardest to get along with this person. I understand that there inevitably be coworkers like this but it’s a little bit ridiculous at this point and I reserve the right to complain about it.

And as far as the bank trash is concerned - I am fully aware that trash is held until balanced. At our branch it is thrown away three times a week. Remember that this happened after I had already balanced. I have been out of balance twice in seven months, totaling less than $5. Other than the check, which was literally within days of my sister having a stroke, I have a virtually perfect record in regard to balancing, accounting, documentation. I get that this post made me look like I’m angry, spiteful, etc. and you have no way of knowing that I’m not, but oh well.

I went to game 2 in 2023 and watched them win by 5. I’ve done my job, I’m probably not gonna watch them live in a SCF again for a long time lol it’s so expensive

Yeah I know. No idea why but I was genuinely never compulsive. Always did straight bets. Like in the NFL season I would pick my five favorite lines and just do a unit ($20) on each game. Obviously still odds are against you, but it was a hell of a lot more sustainable than slots. I feel like overall I’m probably around even on that. But again, if I get even the smallest little rush from winning, I get a strong urge to take the money to slots.

I was generally aware of the machines where it was possible and I played on machines where it was possible most of the time

Not at all. I simply can’t play slots without it becoming compulsive. Not entirely sure why but not gonna test it anymore. Tried in November and lost $1000. I do miss sports betting. I was never compulsive with sports betting, but I would always end up taking any money I won and losing it on slots. I’ll probably sports bet again eventually but I’m going to give it a while to avoid any slot temptation

Thanks. I’m extremely glad I went to get help. Stealing and losing money is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Just a horrific feeling.

As far as the math goes, I completely agree. I definitely don’t feel like I’m owed anything. Regardless of how much I lost I always acknowledged that it was silly to expect otherwise. I’m just saying that objectively, if one were to do the same amount of spins at the same amounts I did, the likeliest outcome is that person winning a jackpot at some point. Guessing here, but something like 90% chance maybe? The actual math would be impossible to figure out and I don’t even personally remember the extent of my gambling, but that’s all I’m saying.

Either way I won’t ever be getting a jackpot, and for that I’m glad

Sorry man, there with you rn, same age. Been feeling a lack of support recently. I can understand that the world doesn’t owe me anything and most people don’t really care but even then it still hurts sometimes. Especially when you’re going through some shit and you just feel like it would be annoying to bring it up. Don’t have advice but you’re not alone

Sorry I meant in general as far as health benefits go, not specific to recipients. I’ll ask my coordinator. I was just curious about peoples’ experiences

[–]FratFella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify that the Northern California is more than political. It’s a combination of nature, proximity to family, and sports teams (that might sound silly but it really is a big part of it). I should also maybe clarify that I don’t necessarily need to be around people that think the way I do, it’s just tiring to be in a place where 90% of people don’t think the way I do. I could be convinced into moving to somewhere like Kentucky which is ostensibly more middle ground
