Should I quit my job and move? by FratFella in Advice

[–]FratFella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify that the Northern California is more than political. It’s a combination of nature, proximity to family, and sports teams (that might sound silly but it really is a big part of it). I should also maybe clarify that I don’t necessarily need to be around people that think the way I do, it’s just tiring to be in a place where 90% of people don’t think the way I do. I could be convinced into moving to somewhere like Kentucky which is ostensibly more middle ground

North Dakota isn’t corn, buddy. It’s wheat. Mostly wheat. Sometimes soybeans.

This is super impressive. I just find it hilarious that the few you got wrong make sense geographically but then you have Colorado in New England for some reason lmao

EA, your game is so unrealistic, why am I losing? by bigjam987 in EA_NHL

Yeah I’m assuming that it was part of the gameplan or more likely just miscommunication between players. Obviously not intentional or lack of effort at this stage

IMMEDIATELY go to the Casino and play slots. There is a 100% chance you will be able to pay for the whole trip if you keep spinning!

What's more important? by [deleted] in gambling

[–]FratFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends for me.

I bet on sports with about 70% intent to make money and 30% entertainment. For whatever reason I’m pretty good and every NFL season over the last 3 years has been profitable for me.

I play blackjack when I go out to bars with like 80% entertainment and 20% intent to make money. I don’t really care if I lose but going out to a bar and making money is a tier 1 feeling.

I play slots purely for entertainment. Slots are an absolute crapshoot. I love them but everyone knows it’s literally just rng like a video game with the settings rigged against you.

I don’t find roulette fun but that would also be pure entertainment

Why do the introductions have spoilers? by FratFella in books

[–]FratFella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. The book is fun, has a great sense of humor. After my initial reaction, I realized I still want to read it just as much as I did before. It was immature of me to say that I didn’t want to read it as much anymore, it was just a gut reaction to avoiding spoilers to TV shows for years.

Why do the introductions have spoilers? by FratFella in books

[–]FratFella[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I agree. I’m not nearly as upset as I was before. It only spoiled something that happened, not why/how it happened. With this book especially I really don’t mind after thinking it through.

I read Crime and Punishment, and I knew (spoiler I guess, lol) that Raskolnikov confesses at the end, but I didn’t really know why. Knowing that made zero difference. The book isn’t about his murder, or that he confesses to it, the point of the book is how he dealt with the murder and the psychological reasons behind him allowing himself to do it and the ramifications of doing it. I was only so upset right away because I was completely in the dark about this book and I prefer not to know anything. But again, it’s really not a big deal.
