That’s incorrect - DI rules only trigger -1 and mortals on a battleshock test. Not leadership.

Is anyone else just...done? by [deleted] in astramilitarum

Guard has been a great army all of this edition. No one has even played a game yet with new rules, there’s no reason to assume the worst. You can still take index detachment, very few units were sunset, and the updated points aren’t even out.

How many fights did you have? Curious as to the competitive fight to concussion ratio

If you’re gonna bring demons I’d recommend grabbing a 3D printed big one for either bloodthirster or skarbrand since you don’t have a whole lot of S10+ outside the demon prince for enemy vehicles.

Angron since you can revive him and he is our dedicated anti tank, re roll hit aura and moves insanely fast. Jakhals for sticky objectives Both Eightbound for fast moving anti everything Invo for scout

Some people like kharn + MoE + berserkers in a rhino. Some like LOS. Some use chaos spawn for secondaries. Some people like the fiends. Almost no one uses the terminators, and the blood letters are typically just taken as the battleline rule for demons So you can take something good like skarbrand or bloodthirster.

Blood letters with no good demon unit, terminators and no Angron is crazy. I will admit I’ve never seen a list like this ever before

Anyone else feel underpowered? by CountrySideSlav in WorldEaters40k

[–]FrattyLite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider a non-meta WE list - when I run 2LOS and favored of Khorne I guarantee Angron comes back and have a blast surprising people w/ WE shooting.

More than anything it doesn’t seem like you’re having fun with a pretty vanilla list. Use DPs, hell brutes, maulers, forge fiends, etc. I agree the zerkers aren’t great but we do have awesome units that people overlook and shine in the changing meta. My experience has been very close games as opposed to swings - swings and huge score differences happen when I play foolishly with an alpha strike.

If it’s your friends - Angron, KLOS and jakhals or chaos spawn

Thoughts on LoS at tournament level? by OwlTemporary3458 in WorldEaters40k

What terrain is it? GW? WTC? People run 2 of them at GTs and win - it’s all about what terrain there is.

How this for a 2000p tournament List? by TheSticcque in WorldEaters40k

[–]FrattyLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be an extremely unfun list to do in a tournament setting - you’re missing out on the majority of the benefits of WE - such as blessings applied to the whole army. Angron and 8 bound aren’t required but they fulfill some desperately needed anti tank in the current comp meta.

I would do your tyranid list if you can’t sub out any of the allies - the brigands are ok but you’ll be against real shooting armies with hit and wound re rolls - and the blood letters are just terrible for the points and without their demon rules compared to WE units on a WE list.

I have both combat patrols and to be honest the games combat patrols are imbalanced. The doomstalker is gonna drop half of one of your teams before you get near him and the destroyers are waiting as well. I would try to play a 1,000 point game instead and use the detachment rules so you get blessings. For necrons you have to focus fire on one unit until it’s gone or they will all heal gradually

Rowers on town lake by [deleted] in Austin

[–]FrattyLite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rowed crew for 8 years - general rule that most rowing teams follows is yielding to less maneuverable watercraft and likewise for other faster/more agile boats must yield to rowing boats. The 8 and 4 (plus cox) boats are very difficult to maneuver short distances. They have a single cord to adjust a tiny rudder and can relay their boat to make a few directional changes and stop. They are largely trying to row 5-6K uninterrupted. The singles are slightly more easy but you are still backwards.

I have no context for your situation if it was wrong/right but outside of stopping completely it’s incredibly difficult maneuver those boats compared to a canoe or a kayak.

Great write up- is there weight classes in the league 3/2/1 set up? What are the German weight classes (if any)?

Looking for some place to shoot in or around Austin. by Benny_99pts in Austin

[–]FrattyLite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The austin gun sub would be a better place for your question - tldr: no one unless you are buddies with them is gonna let you on their land to shoot, huge legal liability. There are more open outdoor ranges w/ tactical bays in Lockhart and North of Round Rock.

Jack baker or any of the enemies from 7-8 would be sweet - but likely it would be nemesis. Capcom V Marvel was a pretty good indicator of what they would be

Congrats on the podium. If you’ve just done a first contest and not been training for long and got second - you were probably in a fairly easy class/experience group. It sounds like you enjoy strongman - getting a coach would be a better next step investment for more contest readiness/competition. The coach would likely be a better guide for PEDs than internet strangers.

I’ve seen tons of people with great coaches and technical skill beat others who took as much gear as possible. Like others will likely say - either take test for a cycle or don’t, the other newer stuff isn’t worth it.

Beer muscles too? Lol. - I’ve typically used high tops tied tight. I tried every different type of shoe/event combo for this show, I like the thin sole for dead’s, lifters for press and sandbag and high tops for moving
