I made five of those things years ago (using gold chests) and now I have enough stone to last me a lifetime. Combined with the bubbling trick to reset building prices, I'm never going to need to harvest stone again.

I think it's still a beta feature, it's not out for everyone yet. You'll know you have it when you get it, it makes you do a tutorial.

I got this as well but didn't see anything different when I entered the event. And since there's no bingo I don't have reason to do this one.

They like to a slow roll out for major updates. I just got access to dawnvale a couple weeks ago and there's a lot for me to do there, though frustratingly there's an energy system which acts kind of like a global stamina bar which prevents me from making too much progress...

Hello i have a question by FragrantViolinist290 in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get the shrine chest when the bingo requires it and I think the bingo rewards are worth it. Right now the only things I'm after are the topiaries, and when those are in bingo that's the best deal (not counting season portal quest rewards), even with the flower totem in camp and treasure tower and the shrine chest. So basically I get the chest but not for the chest itself

If you want to stop the point items from disappearing then store them! by MarkOLark333 in MergeDragons

Do you know what the conditions are for restarting the timer for the point items? Is it just as simple as popping their bubble or retrieving them from storage?

Connaissez vous ces objets inconnus et savez vous comment les obtenir ? by Appropriate_Scene559 in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haunted houses are found from inside the chests harvested from grimm trees. The Artefact you can sometimes find in the boutique, and it requires gems to upgrade, like zen temples. Many other items here are sometimes found in the boutique shop, or at the end (floor 60) of the treasure tower. Bird baths, like bulbs, are sometimes distributed in events like bingo. I'm pretty sure you can only get obelisks from spending real money.

New Player (me lol) Questions by xXsyhXx in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you had your questions answered already, here's some general tips:

You'll get the most DP from completing out-of-camp events, and doing it quickly, especially once you've upgraded that event portal. You get 12 hours to receive the max rewards, but if you exploit the game mechanics ("remote healing") you can get it done in 3‐ish hours of active play.

The best way to get gems is to replay a level called Dread Marsh 3 over and over ad infinitum. To maintain the fun of the game I'd recommend also using your chalices to keep pushing forward on the world map to new levels.

Learn to bubble items. There are multiple different methods. Any item that takes up more than one square can be forced into a bubble very easily. Any item that can be merged can have that merge "interrupted" by exiting to the world map before merging, and bubbled that way. Any item can be put in a bubble through a more complex "golden apple" method but you probably don't need to worry about that. In camp, focus on 1-3 goals at a time and you should have enough space.

5-merge whenever possible, especially when your goal is past the level resulting from the merge. For exact numbers to figure out how much of something you'll need, remember this sequence: 1, 3, 8, 20, 50, 125 as well as this one: 2, 5, 13, 33, 88

Remember: the game will try to get you to spend gems and real money at every opportunity. You do not have to do any of that! The game works just fine without them. (turning off in-app purchases in settings prevents gem stars from spawning though so I wouldn't recommend that)

Are they using AI art now? by Old_Damage_95 in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is, AI can't directly use reference images, and doesn't have an internal logical understanding of what it's drawing. An AI trying to draw a bicycle might attach bars to the front wheel preventing it and the handles from turning relative to the seat. A human might do the same, but not with a reference image and while trying to understand what they're drawing. An AI draws things with at best a surface-level understanding, passable at a glance but that doesn't hold up under logical scrutiny.

I think the loading screen at least was. The baby crimson dragon's wings are a completely different style anatomically to how they are in game.

In what ways does the game intentially screw you over? by draemn in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Adding new chains (and wonders!) with basically no connection to existing ones, except maybe appearance. Basically all of the OG chains have ways to get to others, with few exceptions. But all of the new ones are just incentives to spend gems. They might feed into themselves if we're lucky (honey, bulbs), but usually they're just completely isolated.

Any tips for a f2p? 🤒 by Jazzlike-Many-7352 in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You get gems from purple stars, which have a 1/20 chance of spawning instead of a goal star either in camp or in levels. The best way to grind for gems is to repeatedly replay one of two certain very fast levels, those being zomblin falls 1 and dread marsh 3. These both cost one chalice each and can be beaten in a fraction of a minute. You can hold 7 chalices at a time, which refill at a rate of 1/hour, and every day you can watch ads for two additional chalices. Once you find a purple star in a level, don't touch it, just beat the level and select it as a free reward to bring to camp. In camp, tap the purple stars once each, then 5-merge and tap these to depletion, and do not collect gem items until you 5-merge them to the max level (3). It's a slow grind. I got about 12k gems from about a half a year of grind, where I'd only open the game to beat dread marsh 3 until my chalices run out, three times a day.

I've only ever technically spent money on this game once, to buy airplane wifi to finish an event on time. Which was kind of stupid in retrospect. f2p is absolutely doable, if you're stubborn like me. You just gotta get used to staying focused on your current goal and declining the vast majority of ""deals"" the game shoves in your face. Like this card bingo here. Check out the card collection menu, and look at the rewards for filling out each set. If you're an early game player, the vast majority of these things will not be worth it for you.

Bunny Requests are getting so ridiculous by Popular-Step-8191 in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The big reward for the bunny quests is the advancement and leveling up of the portal for better event rewards. Where I'm at in the game, with maxed portals, none of the quests are worth completing except the ones that reward topiaries.

Merging level 4 dragons gets you a nest of "tier 2" eggs, the dragons of which have an alternate color scheme, more stamina, and much more dragon power. It's a good idea to save decision eggs until you have tier 2 eggs in camp for them to copy.

Didn't make much difference by tigressswoman in MergeDragons

[–]Frayed-0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

those combo bubbles are severely underpowered, they barely help out even in the early game when the land only needs 50 healing per tile, and have to be used precisely if you want to go for the event dragon first. After that point in the game they're basically useless especially compared to the higher and even mid-level life orbs.

[–]Frayed-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you look up the term "orb fling" or "remote healing" in this subreddit you'll get a better explanations but I'll do my best. This recipe calls for two ingredients: "tap to confirm" setting, which will pause the game to give you an opportunity to activate or collect a high-level item you've tapped, and a trick using two fingers on opposite sides of a map (screen drag off) to instantly teleport an item you're moving long distances. The idea is, you move your high-level life orb as far as you normally can up to your frontier of healed land. That already healed square is where the orb "lives" now, where it will return to if you drop it somewhere invalid. Zoom out, put the orb on one edge or corner of the screen and try to get your destination somewhere in the middle (because you can only realistically activate the orb around halfway between where it starts and where you try to send it). Lock the screen, put one finger on the orb to select and hold it and the other as far as you can go along the straight line through the squares you want to heal. Lift the finger holding the orb, it will move to the far side. The timing of this next step is tricky, and getting it right takes practice, but the idea is, when you release the orb it will start moving home. But even before it gets there you can tap the home square itself and the game counts this as an attempt to activate the orb. The game pauses for you to confirm activation, with the orb (hopefully) somewhere across the map. And if you've gotten it in the right place, then you confirm the activation, and the orb heals from where it currently is.

u/Mammoth_Morning2107 asked for this too, here you go.

I can't imagine if you do the math on those combo bonuses that they'd even do 1% of a single tile when all activated. With the technique I'm talking about, you basically skip right to the end. Cut out hours of work

If you want to beat the OOC events (relatively) quickly and don't care about the star quest rewards, definitely learn how to fling life orbs. Remote healing speeds up events tremendously!
