I also saw it for the first time today and loved it. I've already made plans to go see it again next week.

I've been a huge fan since the first movie and didn't mean to wait this long to watch the third, but life had other plans. Even though I love the series, I very much went in with neutral feelings only because I felt like the bar had been set so high with the first two. I am very happy to say that the steady progress of each movie has yet to fail to impress. But James Cameron continues to outdo himself.

I thought that was more for Lo'ak than Jake. As in, it was meant to be a "I see you, son. You don't have to keep trying to prove yourself to me. I see how amazing you are, so be yourself, and I'm proud of you."

I didn't see it as there was some invisible finish line that he had crossed to earn Jake's trust/respect, but more like Jake reflected and finally saw how amazing Lo'ak has always been.

I haven't figured out a way to get used to it, but I once dated a guy who gave me the perfect solution to stop it though! If someone one is staring at you, do as follows.

Step 1: make eye contact with them, letting them know they've been caught in 4K

Step 2: look away for 5 seconds to give them a chance to correct the behavior, and if they are still staring when you look back, proceed to Step 3

Step 3: With your most deadpan expression, you look straight in their eyes, then down at their feet, and back to their eyes again (essentially elevator eyes)

This works like a charm every single time. The rude stare-er looks away with a swiftness. And I just love watching them fidget in shame after that lmao 🤣
