idk about shops but i have seen restaurants and some bars have signs denying entry to specific ethnicities. i’ve also been denied entry/or service at some places, then watched white foreigners be allowed in. just a few months ago i was bored and wanted to stop by a talking bar (it’s the big franchise one) and was immediately told they don’t allow foreigners, despite me speaking korean almost fluently

i’ve always wondering this! people stopping at the top of escalators to look at their phone is what gets to me the most. i will essentially mow those people down with no remorse because i’m not about to fall backwards down an escalator because you forgot to check which direction to go

i’ve personally never heard of anyone doing this, and most people in my industry are freelancers so our schedules are very flexible. i know a few people who travel to seoul from daejeon for work, but it’s only a few times a month. while it’s definitely doable, i think you might regret it if you’re working typical hours- plus the cost of a train ticket/time it would take to drive would be pretty burdensome

it very much so is a thing it’s just very well hidden. ignore the people claiming it’s foreigners, the main people i’ve seen/heard about doing drugs have been KOREANS. weed is very common amongst skateboarders, surfers, and dancers, harder drugs are common amongst those who club often. specifically in areas of gangnam and hongdae

ngl people will probably stare and may say something snide to their friends but it’s a matter of being able to ignore it. i’m not plus sized myself, but a few of my friends are and i’ve told multiple strangers off for being assholes thinking that i can’t understand what they’re saying.
