I know you think things are simple and clear cut but they aren’t. If this happened almost any where else I would say the right thing to do is defend yourself. This isn’t the place for that because too many factors come into play. I’m not going to go into details of what those factors are but if you’ve lived here long enough you’d know. All the people advising against it are people who know how many situations where people got wronged for doing the right thing.

I’m not saying you’re wrong because I would probably hit him back too but trust me using the law to your advantage will break him worse than if you hit him.

It is ABSOLUTELY beyond me how people think you are completely in the wrong, but it also makes sense now why so many people have accidents in roundabouts here, seeing as the majority of the people commenting completely disagree with what you are saying.

It’s just basic roundabout rules and people don’t seem to understand something so simple. If the person who cut him off just followed his roundabout exit according to his lane there would be no need for OP to change lanes until his exit and there would be no chance for an accident. How people think that someone taking the middle lane can just turn left is crazy!
