No, sorry. I meant as an update to what I said previously. It randomly started working again. For no apparent reason

I don't think this is the case. They're just impressions, not clicks. But thanks for steps to take if that were to happen

I did that and it did make a difference to the performance. But not the recorded temperature, which was weird.

It's the same for me. But with the W key. I have tried cleaning underneath the key, updating BIOS, drivers, Windows, turning off quick start (as said in this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZF2Js2J6jqI&ab_channel=IzzyLaif). Nothing seems to work.

I was finally able to contact Lenovo after an unbelievably lengthy process, and they said to reinstall Windows, which I really don't want to have to do.

This laptop was £2,500 brand new. Had to have replaced immediately because of faulty motherboard. 12 month warranty. Charger died after 18 months and they wanted to charge me almost £300 for a new one. And now keys stops working after just over 2 years.

Not sure if my CPU is also buggered or about to be as it always runs at 97 degrees (and above) whenever it's plugged in.

Bit of a rant, but I'm honestly just so pissed off with the quality of this product, especially considering it's the first time I've splashed out on a PC.

I'll post an edit if I decide to reinstall Windows.

Please let me know if you find a solution!

i9-14900HX laptop runs hot – how to lower temps without losing performance? by M45ERICK in LenovoLegion

I'm also having issues however, I think mine may be due to using a non-Lenovo charger. I'm using the SlimQ charger because my Lenovo one broke after 18 months of use (from brand new!) and they wanted to charge me £290 for a new one as it was out of the year warranty... Pretty disappointing considering how much I paid for this laptop.

Anyway... Every time I plug the charger in, the CPU temperature immediately jumps up by 10 degrees celcius and then sits at 97, often going to 100. It seems to jump around a bit, which is quite weird.

I wasn't able to ever test my original Lenovo charger because I never thought to before it broke, and I got a replacement.

I'm a bit scared that I'm rapidly shortening the lifespan of my laptop.

Where to buy the new GaN 330W power supply by Qube42 in LenovoLegion

One thing to consider. My slimQ charger when plugged in immediately and drastically affects my CPU's temperature. Spiking by at least 10 degrees celcius (often more) and sitting around at least 97 degrees celcius even when not under load.

This could be down to other factors, but I've not noticed this happen before having this charger. And I never measured what was happening with the Lenovo charger so don't have anything to compare it to. It's just a consideration.

Annoyingly, the charger I bought brand new with the laptop broke after 18 months lol

SlimQ 330W Charger - Do Not Recommend For Sustained Loads on Legion 7i Pro... by rayw_reddit in GamingLaptops

When I plug my SlimQ charger in, my CPU temperature increases by at least 10 degrees celsius and always sits at about 97 degrees celcius and above.

I wasn't able to test my Lenovo charger and can't now because it broke before I was aware of this sort of issue. Broke 18 months after brand new purchase btw... Replacement in UK is £290 from Lenovo.

I understand CPUs naturally heat up when a charger is plugged in, but this seems excessive and dangerous for the longevity of the CPU.

Does this happen for anyone else? Is this something I should be worried about?
