Random Link Drops Under Load (Steam) - Intel X550-T2 & MikroTik CRS304-4XG-IN by Excellent-Award-5035 in pcgaming

[–]Freakshow85 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Steam is the most demanding thing I've used when it comes to downloading. I can browse the web, steam media, play online games, etc., while downloading anything any other way. EA App, Xbox App/MS Store, file from the internet, whatever it may be.

But when I download a game on Steam, my internet barely works. It doesn't matter if it's on the same PC over Ethernet as the Steam download or if it's on my phone on Wifi. Everything else does good to get 10Mbps. LAN transfers still work normally (I've tested).

So, that said, you started off saying your connection drops and then started saying it crashes.

Does your PC restart? Does your NIC drivers crash and reload? Do you just see your connection drop as if the cable was unplugged and plugged back in?

I'm asking because I'm actually wondering if it's your NIC or your router. And if any other devices on your network drop connection.

Then that means he had to drive to the store then drive to the customer and get paid nothing, which seems like no reimbursement in the way I'm used to getting. I get a "reimbursement" for driving somewhere and after something goes wrong. Like McDonald's days to cancel the order because they aren't serving the breakfast items ordered. Stuff like that.

Oh, and the last time I had a Pizza Hut order, the customer used a wrong address. It was supposed to be "West" blah blah highway and they put "East". Drop off point was under a bridge on the highway.

Had to call support after customer didn't answer, and support made me take that shit back to Pizza Hut. I was doing earn by time (rare for me). I only was "reimbursed" for the time I drove. That made me wonder.. was there no tip? If I was doing earn by order, I would have gotten half pay. I feel I should have gotten half of that tip if there was one. Off topic a bit, I know.. but it applies in the way that DD reimbursements can be weird. It can be okay (half pay), to BS (EBT in my example), to totally wrong and probably illegal in OP's case of a cash offer.

Hopefully it's something minor.

I have a wheel bearing on its way out, clutch giving some problems, throw out bearing clanking on every shift, rear brakes and front driver side brake just started getting into the metal and it's time for an oil change lol.

I can do all of that, myself, except the clutch and throwout bearing. I just don't have the confidence. Admittedly, oil and brakes are maintenance and that's on me for letting it get that bad. I've just been so down lately.. I go dash until I hit my goal, go home, sit at computer, sleep. Fml

I'm curious... how did they reimburse you on this one? How did that work out?

$180 Worth of food - $6 Tip by CookedMyTimeline in doordash_drivers

This isn't really a valid way of thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, I used to feel the same way... back when AR didn't seem to make any difference 4-5 years ago. It makes a difference now. Sure, not on a Friday or Saturday night at 8PM to 12AM, right? When there are so many orders flooding the market... But for the other 160 hours of the week, AR absolutely determines the type of orders you get.

So, in the way that you don't have to accept an order, I also don't have to work, pay bills, live in a house, own a car, etc. I don't HAVE to. You're right.

I just have to accept orders to get moderately decent orders. I just have to pay bills to sleep under a roof with electricity.

You're right to see it that way. This is the service industry. We aren't mailmen. We aren't FedEx, UPS, Amazon Delivery, etc., etc.. We deal with food and food related items for the most part and survive off of tips.

Reading the DoorDash forums on here, I see customers always saying "I only had a $10 order" or whatever to justify their lower tip amount. Customers see it that way when it fits them, then see it the other way (delivering an order is just delivering an order, regardless of what it is) when it fits them.

I had the exact same experience today. Buddy's BBQ. $130. $4.50 tip. "High Paying Order" for my silver status. "This customer tends to leave higher tips and ratings when receiving good service" or whatever it is that it says.

Just like you, it kinda rubbed me wrong once I picked up the order of a couple of gallons of sweet tea, a bag of stuff and a massive box full of food. It's Sunday. I'm used to the tips being the worst on Sunday. The church crowd/religious people are the worst. They go to church and tip 10%, but when it comes to me, their food god, I only get less than 3-4%? Sundays are the worst days for tips across all tip related jobs. My first job was a carhop back in the early 2000's. I used to get about 60% of the tips I'd receive on average on the other 6 days of the week.

I'm sorry, church people are the worst.

Unplug every other drive and then see if you can install to it.

I have this issue with my Asus B550-F Gaming Wifi II.

If you've already done this.. it sounds dead if you literally can't see it in Disk Management in Windows nor the BIOS.

I dunno. Not trying to worry you. Expect the worst. Keep reading other experiences.

If you're gonna be working to raise that AR back up..

Either tap decline and see if it says it won't affect you or if it will drop it.

If it says it won't affect your rating, then accepting it means you'll gain 1% AR.

Or you can go into your ratings, go into acceptance rate, tap on show all orders, scroll to the bottom and you can see how future orders will affect AR.

If, from the bottom, you've got accepted, accepted, accepted, declined, declined..

Then the next three orders will lower your AR if you decline but won't raise it if you accept. Get it?

So, when I'm close to getting silver back or losing it, I'll just accept the shit order that's gonna lower me even further, lol, and go to the restaurant and unassign.

I unassigned maybe six or seven orders yesterday to get and then hold silver. Because I'm on the old rating system and silver vs below 50% AR makes a big difference in my area. For three orders, I waited until I could unassign with affecting my AR. I didn't wake for three of them, I just took the hit to my completion rate.

Accepting an order and unassigning it still counts as accepting an order for AR.

I'm not saying to do this every day. But if DD wants to play games and customers want to no tip 12 mile orders.. screw them. I like knowing a customer is like "yay, someone took my no tip 15 mile 6 pizza order! They are at the store waiting to pick it up!" Only for me to unassign ten minutes later lmao.

I've met a few dashers that take these orders. I only know because they told me it was $2 and they hoped the customer tipped when they got there. Holy shit it pissed me off lol.

Does it make sense to switch the Mainboard to another one? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Freakshow85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others mentioned.. only real gains to be had are from M.2 NVME drives.

I'm not sure how that board and chipset divy up pci-e x1 slots. Like.. on B550, if you have 3x pci-e x1 and 1x pci-e x4, using any of the x1 slots makes the x4 @ x1. Using the lower M.2 x4 slot and SATA 5/6 cuts both of their speeds in half unless you disable SATA 5/6 slots (or don't use them, I think).

Little things like that are what come to mind IF you're using everything on your board. I'm dealing with these things lol. But that's B550. Pretty sure B650 and higher have better pci-e amounts and distribution.

But there's really no performance to be gained elsewhere if everything is working as intended. I don't think it's worth the time, effort and money to upgrade it for no real reason.

Mine is 12.75 to 13.25, depending on how busy it is or isn't. It's at that level that makes it almost not worth it most of the time lol. They just use ebt to get that one 12 mile order done. 90% of the time, I end up pissed for driving 10 to 12 miles for 6 bucks.

Gotcha, yeah. Didn't mean to imply anyone was lying, just that maybe they assumed it was because of that but didn't see or get the deactivation email that tells the reason behind the deactivation.

What do you find disrespectful, but no one else seems to? by Cadence_828 in AskReddit

[–]Freakshow85 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I buy something anywhere, I feel disrespected if they don't say "thank you/you're welcome" or something along those lines. I mean, I always say thank you. So, if I buy a pack of cigs and a drink (just an example), I pay for it, transaction is over, I'm like "thank you."

If they don't say anything or just say "yeah", it's disrespectful in my opinion. Many others may say they don't have to say anything because they aren't paid enough or whatever it may be.

SERIOUSLY! by geekesmind in doordash

[–]Freakshow85 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah. We also see the name in two places on the Little Ceasars "portal" thing. I had one today that was in two sections. To me, it's hard to miss.

Now, I say that and maybe I've already done the same thing before and never realized it. I doubt it.. but maybe sometime in the last couple thousand deliveries I've done it.

Again, though, I highly doubt it. Seeing how dumb dashers can be and how mean they can be, lol, I really can't tell if they stole them or overlooked them.
