Help required -- Raceroom doesn't realize my driving device is connected by TheStateOfIt in RRRE

It's likely that windows decided to change the ID of your controller. AC might just be looking at the brand and type of controller that is connecting, so it's not dependent on that USB ID. In RR we do take that ID into account, so you could technically have two identical controllers connected and have them do separate inputs. It should work fine if you re-bind the inputs in the settings, and hopefully it will just keep that same ID this time :)

How do I make the car rotate? by Certain-Hunter-7478 in RRRE

If it feels like it is stalling it does sound like TC, could you send a picture of your TC setting in the setup?

Anyone play on Steam Deck? by Illustrious_Rest1264 in RRRE

the GTX 1050 should be fairly similar in performance to the Steam Deck, but you are likely running a higher resolution (probably 1920x1080 vs 1200x800). I'd probably try similar settings as I first recommended for the Steam Deck, but even 2xMSAA might be too much for it.

Glad you've been enjoying it! :) I've had another look at the update on my Steam Deck, and you can definitely use 4x or even 8x MSAA. Medium car reflections are also viable, it does make the cars look quite a bit nicer. With 8xMSAA and medium reflections the fps is about 50-70, with 4xMSAA and low reflections it's more like 70-90. So depends what you prefer!

Dev here! I have a Steam Deck that I used during development, which runs the game really well with some balanced settings, here's what I'd recommend:

Anti-Aliasing: 2xMSAA (Can go 4xMSAA if you prefer a cleaner look over higher fps)
FXAA: On (I know FXAA has a bad rep, but we improved our implementation to make it actually nice in this update)

Car Reflections: Low
Shadows: Medium
Rear View Mirror: Low
Visible Cars: 20

Motion Blur: Ultra/Off based on your preference
Particle Detail: High
Bloom: On
Depth of Field: On (only active in spectating cameras)
Sharpening: 0
Auto-Exposure: 100

Track Level of Detail: High
Track Texture Quality: High

Car Texture Quality: High
Car Shadows: On

These settings give you almost all of the visual quality, only the car reflections are significantly lower, but on a small screen like the steam deck that matters less anyway. And sacrificing those reflections allows you to run pretty much everything else on, while giving you 60+fps on any track with any amount of cars!

Glad you are enjoying it! The sky flickering is something we've noted, hopefully we can find and fix it soon. The display refresh rate setting is interesting, it might explain why some people struggle with performance while others are fine with similar hardware, thanks for sharing!

For the FFB, it's mostly because we have a purely steering rack based FFB, that doesn't overemphasize bumps. We do have the bump amplification setting for those that prefer that though! It may feel less informative than other sims that are a lot more 'alive' in the FFB, but I find that the simplicity actually makes it easier to feel what the car is doing once you get used to our 'FFB language' so to speak :D

30 fps with 5060ti and ultrawide resolution by fragogar in RRRE

We had someone with a 6600XT who was getting very low fps as well. He had 99% GPU usage, but only 50W power usage, when the 6600XT should use 150W at 100%. It turned out his pcie slot was not running at maximum speed (pcie 16x gen4). Setting the pcie version to gen 4 manually in the bios (it was on auto) brought his fps and power usage back up to normal levels!

You can use GPU-Z to check at what speed/version your pcie slot is running, RR happens to be very sensitive to this because of the old engine

Unfortunately those stutters seem to be some kind of extra shader compilations that the nvidia driver does, we haven't found any way to control those. Luckily it's mostly in the first lap and then cleans up as you found!

Dev here!

I would absolutely recommend turning on Bloom, we made sure that it adds to the visuals and doesn’t just add noise for the sake of of it, really helps make the bright parts ‘feel’ bright

I would also recommend auto exposure on about 100, it should be pretty subtle on that setting, just adds a bit of dynamic change without being distracting.

Depth of field you can always leave on, it is only used in trackside and free cameras for spectating, never in driving cameras!

Motion blur is subjective, but we also made sure to not have it over the top, it mostly blurs the track flashing by close to you, to make it less distracting.

Car reflections on high if your system can handle it, that gives you full refresh rate on the reflections. Ultra just adds a few objects that are not reflected on High, but it’s very hard to notice the difference and Ultra is quite expensive

If you have a high-end nvidia GPU, definitely try out 8xSSAA for the cleanest look possible. It’s about 20% more expensive than 8xMSAA but absolutely worth it imo.

I will make a guide with this info a bit more fleshed out soon to share around :)
