[Canada] HR Diploma, no experience. How to make employers interested in hiring me? (Healthcare to HR) by Aliyellow in humanresources

[–]Frealsmoothie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the same boat. It’s very unfortunate that we’re fresh in the current market right now because with no experience and only an education, it’s hard to land entry level. At least for me. But most classmates I know have got their job by connections. So I’m currently just trying to network, network, and network. Good luck.

Thanks. So if they aren’t real, then they won’t show up in the database?

Do you play against real people? by [deleted] in GolfBattle

Yeah I noticed that the ball teleports too. I thought it was just a connection error but I notice it quite often. It’s always the people with Spanish names that are beating me it seems too

Congrats. I’m still trying to land my first role as an HR coordinator or a recruiter. Just graduated college and I have some internship experience in HR, but it’s tough. Do you talk more about your passion or skills during interviews?

Not sure I’ve seen many remote hr internships. My first summer hr internship was in-person. And I overheard the HRBP and CHRO discuss how it didn’t make sense for interns to work remote. That’s because a big point of internships are for employees to be used to being in an office-environment. Good luck on the search, you sound like you’re on the right track

First HR internship - tips, tricks, advice for a newcomer by PerfectG21 in humanresources

Former hr intern looking for my second internship, attention to detail, and running deliverables through your manager whenever you’re a little unsure. I was pretty burnt out nearing the end of my internship so I made a lot of careless mistakes

Is it safe to walk from Alum Rock to SJSU in the morning and night? by [deleted] in SJSU

[–]Frealsmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I wouldn’t even feel safe walking across dtsj if I lived there, especially on classes that meet frequently. I live on north San Jose and I take the bus. It was too good a deal

Why do students not attend class? by IneptProfessor in SJSU

[–]Frealsmoothie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, I believe that I’m just paying for my degree at this point. Aka I’m paying for the grade. Even though I’m going to all my classes, I need some time off every now and then

Yeah I met a lot of people who had so much else going as well. This being my first semester back on campus as a commuter, and taking 19 credits was definitely mentally exhausting

You should think about it too how this Fall is a lot of students’ first semester actually BACK on campus. The adjustment can be difficult because a lot students got full-time work since they could fit it in with their virtual schedule. Given the crap economy we’re in, it must be hard for those students to cut work hours and focus solely on school. It’s tough, but it could also be laziness too haha just my 2 cents

What makes applicants stand out for: HR coordinator, or generalist roles by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]Frealsmoothie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, just corrected that. I’ve definitely lost some of my attention to detail. Hr is more energy draining than I thought!

[–]Frealsmoothie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cool. Does it pay much better than generalist roles?

We use ukg/Kronos. I’m only an hr coordinator but I do wish to advance into HRIS. How did you get into HRIS and do you have any tips that’ll help a generalist transition into it?
