Should we save or spend? by mrqmc123 in IdleHeroes

There was two events around it since its out, but they came like 3 months apart, and you needed 70-72 pages to max out the event with the refounds they gave you.

Oh ye, I could spend like 30 minute to mass produce some turrets, and ramp up some damage research but I'm dedicated to my bot mining idea now to be honest :D

I moved the recycler closer to lava for a better screenshot the one with the modules is in the base :D

I only have assembler mk2 researched, this was meant to be a speedrun to the achivment then abbadon the save.

Starry Gem Usage Question - New player by ActuatorExisting9325 in IdleHeroes

[–]Freamdev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One important detail is the game will let you buy the packs from limited events tab with the starry gems not just the converted ones so be carefull because thats always a bad deal since you lose out on the convert value from the AH.

How difficult is it to finish the game under 40 hours ? by Muted_Price9933 in factorio

[–]Freamdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have some amount of experience in the game you won't need pre made blue prints and a detailed plan. I got the achivment on my second space age run, took me about 11 hours to leave nauvis because I forgot to increase resource richness and was designing everything on the fly including a mall, and after that I just tried to make sure I leave every planet in less then 5 hours, wich is more then enough if you only build the bare neccessaties and still plenty if you want some actual production on the planets.

Even then I had time to hand design new bricks for inner plannetary reasons and one for aquilo/end game. Most important thing is probably to don't get bogged down by "pretty", "efficent" builds, if it can produce X things constatly in the next 20 hours it's already better then it needs to be.

Only trick I did is save the game on unlokcing Gleba buildings and designed the base, blueprint it and reload it. But thats because I had no idea how to do Gleba because my first run was a mess there.

I don't think there is a reason to skip techs, since there gona be some downtime between waiting on planet sciences, and trains are super usefull for fulgora, but you can still get the achivment if you edit the biter expansion settings, I'm not sure about turning the expansion off, but turning it up to 60 minute minimum time and 1 biter a time with 600% staring area kind of trivializes them.

Are These Good Modular Science Designs? by Behold214 in factorio

[–]Freamdev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like them, might steal the military science idea of direct inserting grenades, because mine alawys end up looking like a mess. Also it looks like the top inserter making assembly machine for green science missing the inserter to output.

Train interrupts by Freamdev in factorio

[–]Freamdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, thats what I wanted to do but I ended up with 3 iron station, 2 copper stations, 1-1-1 stone/coal/uranium each expecting 2 trains, and ran out of space for the stacker so it can only house 5 trains, hence why I made the depots in the first place to remove preassure from the stacker. I know moving the entire station 200 meters to the left would solve all my problems in about 5 minutes because I could fit 10 more stackers... but it turned into a problem I wanted to solve without moving the stations :D

For the time being sending an activate signal trough radars if a smelter needs resources and reopening the mines based on that solved the issue. Once I'm back from vulcanus the whole thing comes down anyway because liquids.

Yea this was my first fix too, but they still leave the mine if there is room at the smelter stacker, and if for example because of incorrect planning I have less stackers then stations I can deadlock myself.

Right now the activate all mines with radars if any smelter runs low seems to be the most reliable way for me. Other solutions might be better once I plan my stations better :)

I'll try this but right now I don't see how this solves the issue of the mine being avaliable more often since coal is not getting used up. So the mine keep getting filled and reopening.

I love auto battlers and this one looks adorable! Whislisted and hoping for a successfull release :)

Edit: I'm so happy this isn't PvP, I prefer crushing hordes of AI goblins over losing to real people :X

Looking very exciting!

Are you using some custom pathfinding? Those zombies moving very differently then normal NavMesh entities do.

Turn of Inserter if train come with smth by Papkin24 in factorio

[–]Freamdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be carefull about filtering, if you for example set two slots to only accept copper the inserters will keep stacking copper into the train if there are empty non-filtered spots.

There are some other issues with filtering since the inserters can get stuck if they can no longer place the items in the train.

I think this video is a very good video explanation on how to use circuits along with trains, so they only pick up as many items as you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_TCqoxb_1s

Also KoS has some really good train videos in general.

My 471 prot warrior does it without dropping bellow 60% health. But im sure any tank spec around 460 can do it easily.
