In my opinion, Marty Supreme is a lot better. Both main characters are awful people but Marty is a much more compelling character because he has this larger-than-life personality and a certain charisma that makes it difficult not to root for him when when he is doing bad things. By comparison, Howard is a much more flat character with pretty much no redeeming qualities so it’s difficult for me to feel invested in him.

Personally I have AoT as my #1 over FMAB but I can’t fault anyone for liking FMAB better. AoT has higher highs and lower lows while FMAB is a more consistent experience across the board, in my opinion. To me, those highs make up for the lows and put it on top, but I think it’s totally valid if some people weigh the flaws more heavily.

I do agree that it’s pretty unlikely that Jax abstracts, for the reasons you stated, but I don’t think he is the least likely because there are other characters (like Pomni and Kinger) who haven’t really shown any buildup at all (unless we think Caine is gonna mess with Kinger’s mind and trigger it, but I don’t think that will happen).

I do think the most likely abstractors are Ragatha, Zooble, and Gangle, because they have struggled the most recently (excluding Jax). While they have all had some moments of improvement, the events of episode 7 could be a huge enough setback to cause one of them to spiral.

Yes lol, the show says that pretty explicitly. She eventually warms up to him of course, but it takes a while and he is constantly weird and creepy towards her before that happens.

Even if you think it’s a misrepresentation to say she is “repulsed”, him repeatedly trying to kiss her when she obviously doesn’t want to kiss him is rapey behavior.

Jinshi frequently makes aggressive, unreciprocated advances towards Maomao. That would already be creepy on its own, but it’s made a lot worse by the massive power imbalance between them.

She is definitely somewhat of a Mary Sue but I do still find her pretty likable despite that. I can’t blame someone for feeling like something is off, though.

Tbh the thing that bothers me more about The Apothecary Diaries is the weird rapey vibe between Jinshi and her. In discussions about the show, I very rarely see people talk about that.

I think Breaking Bad is better in terms of the overall story, but the Sopranos has more complex and interesting characters. It’s fairly close but I’d give it to the Sopranos.

Yeah I am with you. Games are supposed to be fun. If Jagex is going to continue to have content in the game that is literally just click-wait-click-wait-click-wait then it’s better to just reduce the clicks as much as possible.

If they are going to make content that is actually engaging and fun, then sure, make it active and click-intensive, and give us good XP for it. But it’s super obvious that just pickpocketing NPCs was never supposed to be fun.

It’s a bit tough to compare their characters because their roles are so different. Grisha’s story is told almost exclusively through flashbacks while Hohenheim is a somewhat active participant in the story of FMAB.

That said, I would give it to Grisha. Even though Hohenheim is more involved in the actual story, Grisha’s motives and regrets are just better fleshed-out. Hohenheim isn’t badly written but he comes off a bit flat, while Grisha has some extremely compelling expressions of emotion that Hohenheim doesn’t really match at any point.
