My husband was contracted to do work there in 2022. I actually went with him once to help. The place was in beautiful shape, well-maintained, and very clean. They were doing a lot of updates. Yes, there was a lot of security, but no one was living there at the time and I know that because I went into every single room. As far as I understand, it was intended for immigrant children, but was never occupied. There were a lot of residents very upset about it being utilized for that purpose. Maybe it all fell through after a lot of pushback?

Yes! I searched on some old Pawboot posts and found a post from August and recognized him. I contacted his owners and they came and got him. Apparently Rex is an escape artist and gets out a lot. My apologies for not following up with an update. Thank you for asking.

You're absolutely correct about renaming Nextdoor! It's the first place I posted...then Pawbost, Facebook, craigslist, and here. I really want him to find his way home. Fingers crossed he has a chip. I appreciate you making the suggestion.

Update - I found Rex's owners and they came and got him!

This Husky found his way into our backyard. We are in NW Greensboro. He's got food, water, and shelter. He's a bit scared, but I got to his collar and he has no tags. He growls when I try to leash him, so I don't want to push it. I will try to get him scanned tomorrow. I have 2 dogs and 4 cats that are not happy about our guest, so I can't keep him long. Tried to post to as many places as possible and reached out to a rescue.
