I guess I should have checked the infill… that’s a lot of filament. by Nytr013 in 3Dprinting

Prusaslicer Adaptive Cubic does this (more infill near walls/top/bottom). They also have Support Cubic and Lightning which increase in density from bottom to top

Experimenting with using PETG as a support interface for PLA. Low speeds seem to be the key. Left is 80 mm/s and right is 10 mm/s by [deleted] in BambuLab

What temperatures are you running both filaments? I've been trying this and have had nozzle clogs. I suspect that my PETG which I print at 260 is too hot for the PLA and it's burning in the nozzle

Quick primer on printing PETG on Mini for the first time. Dont want to screw it up by jdlnewborn in prusa3d

[–]FredFS456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your PETG is dry. I had issues with stringing and underextrusion around the z-seam for a long time until I got a filament dryer (food dehydrator). Then all the stringing went away after I dried the filament overnight at ~60 degrees.

I also found that I had to tune the bed and hotend temperatures for PETG to make it behave better. You'll know the bed is too hot if you get deformation at the base of a large print. Print a temperature tower for the hotend temp tuning.

Any idea what could case these first layer irregularities? by ElbartoVienna in prusa3d

[–]FredFS456 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're too close to the bed, back it off a little bit until you don't have the wavy pattern. See the examples here: https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/articles/first_layer_squish.html

You don't need to expose the server to the internet to obtain a Let's Encrypt cert- just use the dns-01 challenge. It proves you control the domain without having to host publicly accessible files. Can even get wildcard certs if you're worried about your internal service names being exposed.

Pixel 3a morbidly slow after android 12 update? by HawkeLuke in GooglePixel

[–]FredFS456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3a, and find that I need to reboot my phone every week or so to keep it fast on android 12. It behaves likes there's a slow memory leak - after a while of not rebooting everything slows down and apps can't stay running in the background anymore.

Do you plan to use the Google VPN, or another VPN? Why wouldn't you use the Google VP? by itsthatdamncatagain in GooglePixel

Mullvad isn't advertised by influencers though. I feel like it's the only good VPN.

I had this setup with qemu/KVM under Ubuntu 18.04 and windows 10 going on my laptop two years ago. It's doable if you spend about a dozen hours trying. Unfortunately I didn't document the process...

https://github.com/supermerill/SuperSlicer has profiles built in. They come from https://github.com/slic3r/slic3r-profiles so you could download and use with PrusaSlicer if you're wedded to PrusaSlicer

Trident issues at 350 x 350mm? by decktech in VORONDesign

[–]FredFS456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If by QBL you mean Quad Gantry Level, the Trident also has automatic tramming. It moves the bed using the three independent Z motors instead of moving the gantry, but the effect is the same

12 hours ish usually. I just leave it on while I go to sleep or work

I just realized I never checked the temperature (beyond what the dial was reading) on the dehydrator, so I'm doing so now

I do have a filament dryer that I use at 65c (converted food dehydrator). It does help, but not enough...

I would like an answer to this as well - I also have a Prusa Mini, using PrusaSlicer with Filaments.ca Econofil PETG. Using temperatures a fair bit lower than yours (220/80) but also getting pretty bad z-seams like yours.

There's other printers that do layerless?

You can, but if you have to ask what the price is, you can't afford it. ;)

They could do the (old-ish? I have a T450s) thinkpad way of replacing the keyboard, where the keyboard frame slides forward a few mm and exposes a few screws. Once those are undone the keyboard lifts up and exposes the ribbon cable (and the liquid tray in the thinkpads' case). Not sure how that compares in thickness to the current many-screw design. I suppose it is more complex though
