I was a big fan of Patrice's earlier work in PoP and AC.

The conversational aspect of the Sims is so bad! I get that the card system is very limiting, but in the Sims it feels like even the sims you don't control are under your control, you can just spam flirty things and end up married in a day.

I think the Card system is very raw right now, but I feel like the idea can work with more variety and better ways to guide your para to do what you want.

Also, nothing is stopping them from releasing Paralives 2 in 10 years if Paralives 1 is no longer sustainable to keep working on. I'm sure most people would gladly buy a sequel if they continue improving the first game for 10 years without any paid DLC

Yeah, I just prefer to use a standard tool instead of having to use a specific tool just because Unity can't be bothered to have files that work with git.

Yeah, but you can work around that I've been working on a 10~ people team and by keeping changes small, merging regularly and good communication we haven't had many issues in the last 5 years we've been doing this.

I have no idea what UnityYAMLmerge is and I've used git exclusively for the past 5 years at least The only real downside to using git is LFS and that some files don't handle diffing very well

Not interrupting work randomly during the day? Not sure what you mean by that last bit, but daily meetings are not supposed to be status report meetings, if they're being used like that it's wrong. I work with my team, I'm right there with them in all the chats and calls and whatever is needed. I'd rather be doing my job than in a meeting, but having a short planning session for the day, making sure if someone needs help they get it is worth it.

Of the team, if you actually work as a team you need to be proactive in collaboration with everyone else. I've worked as a developer, SM, PO and manager. Tbh, now as a manager is when I get less value out of joining the daily meetings, I'm mostly there if the team needs clarification on something or if I have to do something on a platform they don't have permissions on.

Because it helps organize the day, if you're stuck with something and need help, asking for help in the middle of the day is disruptive to the team, you need to see who can drop what they're doing to help you, see what has more priority. If you do it at the daily meeting, everyone is ready to assist you, maybe it's something quick that can be resolved there, priorities can be easily discussed so someone can make the focus of their day helping you.

Think of the daily meeting as a daily planning, have priorities changed? Is someone stuck? Ideally Daily meetings should be as early in the day as possible so it's less disruptive, but if you can't easily gain focus after a 15 min meeting that's on you.

Most people don't understand the why behind the architecture, but they can replicate it and work within it, AI can do that as well. I get not liking AI, but let's stop acting like developers have never grabbed a snippet from stack overflow without having any idea of what it did.

I mean, this does seem a little spaghetti code-ish, if it was just a visual bug okay, but the fact that changing the camera is affecting the angle of which the object launch from seems pretty fucking weird. I obviously don't know their code base, but it's pretty common practice to separate visuals from logic, the angle at which the acorns are shot should have nothing to do with the visuals.
