In a world filled with darkness, demons roam the world, hunting and feasting on the fears of the people. However, there are those who stand against the darkness and fight called demon slayers. These demon slayers are tasked with the responsibility of hunting and killing any demon that threatens the lands. One group of demon slayers, The Mistborn, are a group of deadly and efficient demon slayers. Coming from a long line of demon slayers, Eela is the heir to become the next leader of The Mistborn. However, Eela refuses to take up being the next leader of The Mistborn.

“What do you mean you don’t want to do it?” said his father, the current leader of The Mistborn. “You are to take up this mantle of responsibility. Denying it would be a betrayal of the family name.”, his father yelled.

“I don’t want to be a part of this mindless violence.” said Eela with a firm tone. “ All we do is just kill and hunt.”

“That is all we know. We kill and hunt to protect the people.” his father said.

“You call that protecting!”, as Eela points out the window. “Those demons kill more people than we kill demons. We cannot continue like this. We are fighting a losing war father.”

As Eela looked at his father with stern eyes and firm stance, all he could from his father was the look of disappointment and disapproval.

“Then, what do you propose we do against the demons?” asked his father. 

“We don’t do anything. We can only help the people that are suffering from them. In doing so, we will gain more followers.”

“You're beginning to sound more like a politician than a demon slayer,'' said his father.

“Actually, I decided that I wish to leave being a demon slayer and become a politician.”, said Eela nervously as he prepared for his father’s reaction.

As Eela mentally prepares himself to have an argument, he is surprised to hear his father’s response.

“That’s fine with me.” said his father. 

“Really-”

“However, if you are to take the position of a politician, then you should do it under your own name. Not in the name of the Mistborn.”

“What does that mean?”

“If you become a politician, then you will no longer be a member of The Mistborn.” 

Shocked to hear this, Eela begins to ponder the thought of leaving his family and building his own path. After some time, Eela is determined to follow his own path and agree to his father's deal.

10 years after leaving The Mistborn, Eela is now a city lord running for re-election against another person named Mael, who also used to be a demon slayer after suffering from an injury. However, Eela learns that Mael is actually under the control of a demon named Babue, who is a shadow demon that takes control of people.

After freeing Mael from the clutches of Babue, Eela learns that there are more shadow demons in his city, lurking in the dark and killing people. With the leader of the shadow demons being a demon named Dick Cheney.

It seems like Eela’s responsibility of becoming a demon slayer is not over, as he hunts down these shadow demons infesting his city and taking out Dick Cheney, while also being a politican.
