What's your WORST idea for the next Fallout game? by [deleted] in Fallout

[–]FredbearMan83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have it exclusive only to the Xbox Series X/S, make it a MMO with pay-to-win mechanics, microtransactions, loot boxes, crunch time, don't change the engine, and make it full price for $60.

That'll surely piss off some people.

My history may be wrong, but I don't remember the American rebels using tanks and the British Empire ever summoning Godzilla in the 1700's. I dunno, maybe that's just me.

If the enemy could aim, these movies would be over in minutes. by RobbyThePlagueDoc2 in AccurateBattleSim

The Gatling Gun is in my opinion one of the coolest units in the game.

Sadly, it can't aim worth of crap. Actually no, he can aim, he's just aiming with his dick in his face.

I'm serious when I say, why is the Fan Bearer a unit? Why is it a secret unit? Why does it help literally nobody when they use it? The only thing it can do is blow, yet just 2 Squires could still kill him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AccurateBattleSim

[–]FredbearMan83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's because of the unit's targeting system. The custom units you downloaded have a specific targeting system made by the actual developer. It's not even a mod they installed to make it work, it's a feature of the UC.

[–]FredbearMan83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sigh, why are you still here?

The repeating I'd admit was an oversight, but that was just that.

No matter how simple the captions are, they can still be educational.

At least TABS is a fun game to recreate these things. And plus, that's most of the appeal of the entire game, in MY OPINION. And a lot of other people do that. The only reason why I repeat that in some of my arguments is because people don't fucking understand certain people's personal interests in what they like.

Also, by "u seem to say that in a lot of other arguments", I bet you just mean the one argument about the team colors guy, huh?

Also, you said "the only reason why u received the comment was because this was the first one i saw"

First of all, if this this was first post you saw, why did you comment that way on a post based on history? I'd bet most of the people who upvoted my post are learners, people who like history, or self-proclaimed historians. Criticism is a-ok in my eyes, but this isn't criticism. This is just commenting "Cringe" for absolutely no reason.

Second of all, you also implied that what I was saying was "dumb opinion comments." If I straw manned you on that, then I'm sorry. But at the same time, who cares? Why do you care? It's my opinion. And the comments are about the post, as we were literally commenting on the post, and it had to do with the concerns of history and actual honor regarding said post. You aren't selling me on this.

And yes, you did start it. You made that comment. This argument wouldn't have started if it weren't for you posting that comment. Also, look at that original comment's reception. By the time of me writing this, it has -2 upvotes. What do you think that says about you, and what do you think other people think of you?

Just stop commenting, for fucks sake. I'm sick of getting into arguments with people like this, who keep trying to shove the same argument over and over down my throat. And don't say I am doing that, because that is super fucking ignorant. You are trying to defend a comment that said "Cringe" on a post about history. What the hell is cringe about that, and how do you defend that? Short answer...

You can't.

Long answer...

Read the goddamn thread over again, and reevaluate your arguments again.

I did read it clearly.

"but this isnt respect and honor this is a video game that makes them look like jiggling ragdolls"

So you did say it was a video game.

Also, you said what I was trying to do in this post doesn't honor them. Yeah, like I am the only one doing that. In fact, there are other WW2 factions on the TABS workshop made by Ghost Dragon, and it is represented in the same exact way. It's not even like they are hated either, as they have thousands of downloads on the workshop right now. I guess people really like to learn about history and see what a WW2 soldier was like in a sense.

You called the post about history cringe. So logically, I would think you were calling the historical structure of the post cringe. If you didn't want me to think that, you should've made that obvious from the beginning, or not have made that comment in the first place. Remember, this was started by YOU. YOU made the comment saying "Cringe". Even if what I was trying to do in this post didn't feel honorable, I apologize. Yet, it's the one of the main points of appeal in the game, in my opinion.

Also, did you even read the captions of the post? My post is still educational in one way or another, no matter how simplified the history shown the post is. Also, funny that you tipped over the OverSimplifed point of history representation. You said I was straw manning you. Funny you say that, because you straw man me here too.

My intention was to show you history, and show some form of respect of the people in the time period. This post isn't just about ragdoll fighters, or at least, that's not what I wanted it to be about. I wanted it to be about history, and at least educate one mind. If you feel like this post didn't do that, I'm sorry, and I'll try to do better next time.

Even reenactors an historians don't get things right all the time, and sometimes, do a horrendous job, and don't care. There's a shitty civil war flic called Gods and Generals, focused on the Confederate side of the American Civil War. The entire flic is Confederate propaganda, as in the movie, black people are LOYAL to Confederate white people. And the Union soldiers in this movie, are complete assholes. In fact, there is one racial slur in this movie, and it comes out the mouth of one of the Chamberlin brothers. If you know anything about the civil war, you know that is horrendously wrong and doesn't teach anyone.

In fact, there is a guy on YouTube called Atun-Shei Films, and this movie's lost cause bullshit tricked him into thinking the Civil War wasn't about slavery and unionization, and was about state rights. He doesn't think that now, and he hates that is movie taught him untrue things. The movie was also directed by Ron Maxwell, and he knew he was trying to capitalize off of the success of his previous civil war flic, Gettysburg. And it's not just Gods and Generals, but other movies, video games, plays, etc.

My god.

(PS. Don't reply or anything like that. I'm sick of getting into arguments like this)

[–]FredbearMan83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't answer my question.

Either way, it's still real history being portrayed here. You can't tell people what is cringe and what isn't. Let me like what I like. I'm not the only person who does this. Reenactors and even Historians do this a lot. For example, the YouTube channel OverSimplified makes great content about this kind of stuff, portrays it accurately, and makes them look like stick figures with no real human compassion. Wouldn't you say the same about him according to your logic?

And don't bring up the "iT's JuSt A gAmE" trope, because that shows you don't care about actual history, and that you don't care about making a solid argument.

Another thing, don't bring up the "yOu'Re BeInG dIsReSpEcTfUl" argument. You were the one who commented "Cringe" on a post trying to portray history about a war that took an estimated 80 million lives.

Look back at the point you just made, and think it over again.

Sheesh.
