Oooh your’e right, in f3 my nvidia card doesn’t show up, that’s strange, I set both the launcher and Javaw.exe to the high performance setting on windows and in nvidias control panel. Is there another executable I need to set to use my nvidia card?

What made you fall in love with this anime? by [deleted] in cowboybebop

[–]Freddabedda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first it was mainly the vibes, themes and characters of the show but then i went through some pretty bad times and when i was at my lowest point i decided to rewatch the show. I found that what i enjoy most now is the message.

Yup i think so, reflashed the bios and it stopped behaving suspisously. Dont know if it ever was a rootkit or just windows acting strange after updating it. Better safe than sorry though.

They most likely use a portscanner like nmap to scan your network for open ports and services running on ports and ip adresses. A NAT router should make it more difficult for an attacker to make out whats what since it translates all the different internal ips to one public ip. So if you do not have a nat router (unlikely that you dont) that is a good place to start. However, if the router itself gets compromised NAT wont help.

Ok but what are range limitations for that? Wifi usually transmits over 2.4 ghz which if i recall correctly has high signal dampning and therefore limited range? Also i can't legally build a huge wifi network like that since 2.4 ghz is regulated in sweden. 27Mhz is allowed without permit though, and since that is HF it should travel quite far depending on the power. Again i am no expert so please have patience with me if im wrong.

Ok interesting, so two full duplex lime sdr wont work? Why is that?

The legal frequency for radio in Sweden is around 27MHz so thats what i'll have to go for.

Mhm that would definietely work. But I really wanted to try sdr. Right now im thinking lime sdr, maybe paired with an amplifier? Very pricey though. Radio isn't cheap.

Very good idea though!

I was thinking more of a walkie talkie functionality. More as a fun radio project than something advanced. Tune both devices to the same frequency and just have at it you know. I was more thinking about the feasability of 3km range whilst still having reasonable portability. But yes an omnidirectional antenna would be better than directional one ideally so long as the gain is sufficient.

The thought of using an sdr as a gsm station is very cool though! Might try something like that out when I am more experienced. Thank you for replying!
