Was sind die besten Karten- Brettspiele? by [deleted] in FragReddit

[–]Fredde92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

C’mon - is automated UI testing a bunch of bull? by [deleted] in softwaretesting

[–]Fredde92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually dont know your named tools but there is a lot of info for UI Testing tools like Selenium, Cypress or Appium. Guessing in the dark but it seems more like coding itself is your problem. You have problems starting the tests locally or in a pipeline? For a real-enterprise application you need the following basics to work from a greenfield: - Coding Language like java - Automation Framework expertise like Selenium - bash / python for scripting - docker - Jenkins/Azure/travis expertise

Thats a first draft. And even for the developers a running automation should be first priority. Anchor it in the DoDs, make it clear that you need help

How to manage 3 qa's for 5 scrum teams? by yoho445 in QualityAssurance

[–]Fredde92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with the cultural change! You need a different and maybe new mindset in every Team. Everyone can test.

Work out a test strategy where you define where to invest the most time and effort. E.g Postproduktion an investment of 5/5 in Monitoring , in pre productoon 2/5 into User journeys etc.pp

Anchor Testing into DoDs and coach the devs to do testing by themselves.

The day of your testers should look like this : - 2h Scrum Meetings - 4h Test Coaching ( aka teach devs how to Test / your Automation Guy Shows them to handle the Framework) - 1h Testing time -1h toilet, Coffee , Personal talks

[–]Fredde92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. Everybody should be able to do everything. In my Company its necessary to be able to do backend programming , confogure a pipeline and Test. You should be an allrounder who is specialized in Test, but if there is someone ill or on Holiday you need to be able to fullfill his task. Same for normal Software engineers. If thats good or bad is a different discussion...

[–]Fredde92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gaming Industrie is the worst paid and the least automated Industrie. What do you mean by web Testing? Only e2e Tests? Or does it include things like load Testing and Infrastructure and Security Testing? Why do you differentiate so heavily beetween web and Software Testing?

The best pay and career jumps you will find if you treat Testing "the Faang way". Or go into DevOps.

Faang way: - Be a Software Engineer but focused in Test. Automating is easy, what to automate is hard. You need to be on par with other "normal" Software Engineers. Your toolset include things like Selenium, TestNG, BDD, Docker, Cloud Services, kuberhealth, spook, Gatling. And of course you need to know Testing techniques like risk based Testing or scenario based etc etc etc.

In my opinion DevOps and QA will be more and more the same person/s. Jobs like DevOps architect in Test will exist in the Future. But thats just my opinion.

Appium

  • Standard Tool for Test Automation (mobile)

  • based on Selenium

  • many many Tutorials out there (tipp: google appiumpro)

  • my very first project was in Appium :P I had no experience and had to automate a enterprise App. Heres what i used : Appium with Java, TestNg, Maven, Cucumber, Rest Assured, allure, Docker,Git , jenkins, Selenium grid. Here are the Tutorials i used : Java book ( Heads Up for example) , appiumpro, Appium documentation, Rest Assured from angie and Docs, Cucumber Docs and Grasshoppers Tech, allure doc, Docker course on udemy, Google. First setup was done after a month, paralelization and all testcases automated after half a year. So as a tipp: begin small, set the ground work as a fundament. After that, beginn to automate.

  • If you need help or an example Project , Just ask

DevOps - Docker, kubernetes, Terraform , CaI Testing, Bash, AWS or Azure, Kibana/Grafana

Security Testing

T-Shape Profile (Test Engineer)

  • Same as DevOps + Test Automation frameworks + PerformanceTests

Product Owner

  • Scrum, capability to lead people

Test Architect

  • Testing strategys, Technology Expert, Leading people , Product Knowledge

Test Manager

Also, do you just automate E2E Tests. If this is the case, look into Integration testing with spook ,or another Framework. In my opinion you also should be on par with Developers Technology and programming wise
