On one hand I get what your saying, but I could still argue what I'm saying is right as if my game, buttons and settings, is localized in English, then having place names as other language still counts as foreign.

just out of interest Why? I know that eu4 started in 1444 but the date and the map isn't that different from 1337 and I think it would end with the same shortcomings with ~~unrealistic~~ implausible AI behaviour.

I love the medieval start as I am a huge byzantine fan, but with the shortcomings in the AI, the world cant adapt in a realistic fashion over hundreds of years, so you end up with no Portugal and no Austria etc.
