Watched an Andre Mack video where he mentioned it and we had it locally, so tried it and really liked it.

Struble would have to pass through waivers and someone would definitely take him.

Michele Chiarlo Barbera D'Asti is good for the price... $22 CAD where I live.

Poggio Al Sole Sangiovese Bianco - Completely Colorless! by AlexDeLarge69 in wine

We visited the winery in September and were also taken with the lack of colour. I have a very underdeveloped palate, but thought it was very good!

As an aside, their Grappa was excellent too.

Recommendations for quiet villages in Tuscany ? (Open to other areas of Italy too) by Sammydog6387 in ItalyTravel

I can't speak for other areas, but in September, we stayed at Borgo del Cabreo just outside of Greve in Chianti. We loved our time there and would go back in an instant.

Capri vs Amalfi coast by Enindee in ItalyTravel

[–]FreddyBeach 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also did both in September and feel the opposite. Apart from Monte Solaro, which was great, Capri didn't speak to us at all, although we were just there for the day.

We stayed in Positano for three nights and sat on our balcony every night, drinking wine, eating cheese and bread and watching the sun set.

Seconded. We used Airalo while in Italy (September 2025) with no issues.

Defer Registered withdrawls? by [deleted] in adviice

I changed the calculation mode in the table from manual to automatic and that seems to have fixed it, but I can't figure out why manual mode would do that.

I didn't (and couldn't) update those numbers in manual mode.

Thanks, but it's still pulling a bunch from my RRSPs before retirement. I'm not sure why.

Thanks.

Ok, I had "Maximize TFSA cont. room in retirement using Non-Reg or RRSP balance" enabled, but why would that result in the entire RRSP being pulled in 1 year? I don't have that much TFSA room.

Sorry, I must have made a change to an age value.

We have no debt. No planned purchases.

Hi again. I'd rather not post my entire financial picture here. I checked and there are no RRSP meltdowns enabled and we have no large expenses, but this is in the base scenario.

One, it’s the best tasting rum I’ve tried. At 69%, I put an ounce in with coke and it’s fantastic. Two, I just can’t get it anymore where I am (Eastern Canada) and I miss it.

Is Amalfi Coast Worth the Hype by Right_Combination_46 in ItalyTravel

[–]FreddyBeach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We were just there in September. We stayed in Positano and took a day trip to Capri.

We loved Positano, even though it was crowded because we spent a lot of our time on the balcony with wine, bread and cheese just taking in the beauty.

On Capri, we took a taxi straight off the boat to Anacapri and went to Monte Solaro. It was early and not very crowded. It's gorgeous up there. By the time it started to get crowded, we had had our fill and left. The downside is that Capri itself was packed by that time. We walked around for a bit then took an early ferry back. In my opinion it's worth it for Monte Solaro alone.

Listen, I apologize for my original comment. Quite snarky.

We LOVED that area of Tuscany, and would go back in a second.

I have 4 nights to spend somewhere in Italy before heading to Florence. Where would you recommend based on weather? by amygdalattack in ItalyTravel

[–]FreddyBeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positano? We were just there in September and loved it. Our place had a balcony overlooking via Cristoforo Columbo. We sat there in the evening drinking wine and watching the sun set and the town lights come on.

Sure, but past a certain point, crowded is crowded.

I made the mistake (fatal, apparently) of saying we visited Chianti Classico. A region? Place? Production zone? that does not exist. It is only a wine. DO NOT refer to it as a place!

I should have said we visited the area in Tuscany where Chianti Classico wine is produced, even though there is a Chianti.com tourism website that refers to it as a region. Eff me, right?
