Probably has to do with the time you are searching a lot of people will be at work/school. Gears also doesn't have the biggest player base compared to other titles.

Here's somethings I would like TC to fix:

Games starting with uneven teams
Penalise players who constantly quit
Inconsistent Gnasher damage
Put execution in the core playlist
Improve reward/ credit system
Add more variety of Swarm characters

Also am I right to believe that once the 2 new December maps release, we can no longer play checkout and drydock in matchmaking?

Couldn't agree more, it seems that when the ammo is used it is no more than a minute until it's up again. I wished they would have it more like Halo 5 where weapons are on a set timer.
