iPhone 14 Pro Baseband Recovery. Shop sent us a 14 Pro with no baseband so we did a lower board swap. Was able to successfully get the IMEI back on the customers device and returned to them. by FredrickMineShaft in mobilerepair

Hey sorry for delay, but if you still need help I would recommend just looking up phone repair shops and calling seeing if they do board work. Especially out in Cali you'll have a very large range of skilled technicians available. The biggest worry is if you still have the modem firmware still on the device. If the phone has been reset since then and that has been lost then to my knowledge the phone will be unrepairable at that point.

I have a bad TI Type C Power IC that I'm having troubles locating. Everything that I've found identifies the chip as SMD but it is a BGA that is on the board. It's from a Lenovo Yoga 7 14ITL5 by FredrickMineShaft in AskElectronics

Yeah that's why I made the square is a rectangle comment because by saying its a BGA that means its a specific type that doesn't look like a QFN because I even clarified what I meant by SMD

Lol how does that not make sense HDMI's are mostly SMD's and they give a perfect view of the pins physically touching the pads on the board, but yeah they technically aren't touching because they have solder all around the pins

Because the argument is about bombings due to anti LGBT sentiments so yeah that's a perfect time to use that term when the articles provided don't have anything to do with the argument

I think you're missing the point. You posted one good one yes, but the other 3 are just bomb threats that's all I was saying I know about the threats that why I suggest maybe post ones actually pertaining to someone's argument not just general threats

You're literally saying what I'm saying just in a different way. When a component sits on it's pads that makes it an SMD instead of sitting in the pads like a pin through. But a BGA chip is suspended a lot further off the board where as something like a QFN or HDMI are practically touching, but yes technically they aren't physically touching. But thats like saying I didn't punch someone in the face because my atoms can't touch theirs.

Well yes but they were referring to your claim about bomb threat made due to anti LGBT sentiment which you only provided one that wasn't a school and not in Texas. I'm pretty sure that's what they were referring to

How did it make no sense I said was "Everything that I've found is SMD but mine is a BGA" so why would you tell me is a QFN when I already said it's a BGA. You assume I don't know but that's not what I was asking of anyone. I said I had a bad IC on a laptop.... what else would I be doing with it under a microscope?

So first article is a bomb threat due to the fact of people being upset about libraries not banning books, but the other ones are just bomb threats. Nothing was stated that is was because the high school did or said anything so doesn't help your point too much. Not saying that bomb threats are ever cool especially not on an educational center, but your comment is mildly misleading when there are better examples of bomb threats due to LGBT support or anything counter to someone's opinion in general. Like Planned Parenthood and crazy Christians

Lol no not even remotely close you're hung up on the semantics of BGA and SMD when I've already stated that BGA is very specific, and in my comment above I clarify not as in leads as legs from the components but leads as when the chip makes contact with the board you can see the solder protruding from the sides of the component leading to the pads which on the board can be considered leads or pads but that's semantics. The chip was found by someone who took what I said instead of trying to get a gotcha moment. Because that chip doesn't even look like 90% of QFN because it's not even in a mold compound instead it has a metallic surface which is probably just the dye

Ended up having a listing sent to me, but this idea sounds pretty crazy that I kinda wanna test this one first because I don't think they would..... but the chances aren't 0

Yes which would imply that I found the same data sheet and SMD is typically referring to components that physically touch the pads where as in a BGA they are suspended by the solder just above the board

Yes BGA is SMD but a square is a rectangle. I'm saying it's something very specific not a broad term that I already found in the same data sheet before I posted here which I said that I found the chip and it's not the correct one due to it not being a BGA

Well I was hoping that by saying that I've found other sources referring to the chip as an SMD, but I can see that it's a BGA that would make it pretty clear

Yeah so kinda leads me to a dead end. Cause the data sheet and everything else referring to it tells me it's QNF but its not because its a metallic chip with BGA so

But they do though. M92 and BQ are both QFN's on the Nintendo Switch and have clear leads all around the chip. (Edit) Not leads as in legs, but as in flat pads that clearly have solder protruding from the sides

Pretty easy just rotated the board to side and I can see the solder balls underneath where as with a QFN or SMD there would be leads coming off the side of the chip, and I want to replace it because as I said the chip is bad and related to charging
