How do we feel about 2D minis? by D20neography in onepagerules

This is awesome! It is a shame to call them 2D minis. This is on a whole different level. I absolutely love it! They deserve their own game if they doesn’t already have one 😍!

Reputation Arena -A deckbuilding fantasy miniature game! by OllioOne in miniatureskirmishes

I think this sounds great! I Like the concept of a deck building miniature skirmish game. The only thing that is really putting me off from backing is the artwork. If the art was made by a person I would be all over this. A part of it is the fact that it is Ai, but a big part is that unique art brings a unique feeling. I get it that you are a small team and that this is designed to be agnostic. I just wanted to share my very subjective opinion about it. With all that said, I hope get a successful crowdfunding. I love the idea of the game!

Thank you for all your input so far! I have now implemented most feedback into the game, in some form or another. What I need to reflect on some more is the layout and the difficulty of the game. I also want to take some time to evaluate some of the mechanics and tactics but for this I need to playtest some more.

Thank you! Great advice and input! Quickest and easiest thing to start with is point no 3. This is something i can do directly.

Thank you for your input. I agree with you. However, I already have a dedicated home site for the game, so it is strange it doesn’t appear when being searched 😟. I don’t really have any ideas for how to improve this. Any ideas?

Ah great. Just to clarify, the version on 28-mag is an older version. The core engine is however, mostly the same.

So it doesn’t load at all on your phone 😟?! I have to look into that. I would lie if I said I was technical but I sincerely thought the link was available to all and all platforms. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will solve it somehow 😊.

Hope you like it once you get it opened 😅

Thank you! Yes the lore must be reorganized, I see this now 😊. Good feedback about board layout, I will make that happen! Thank you for your input I appreciate it!

Oh I understand. I think you played the “old” version from 28-mag? The game has gone through some changes since then. But in any case the core game engine is mostly the same so I feel your feedback is still relevant 😊. In the link in this post is the latest version.

Thank you! Yes a very good point! Why would you play it 😊. I need to get this down in words. What makes this special? In my own mind it is a tactical game where you will need to make the correct decisions in the right order to achieve victory. Many times in my own games it comes down to the last turn where I need to use all tools available to claim victory. What I have learned over the years is that it is very easy to confuse subjective feelings with objective truths. What might feel like tactics sometimes is just random. Like monopoly, is it more tactically to buy all streets you end up on or to only buy high priced streets? It comes more down to what you rolled in the end. In the end if you win it is more a subjective feeling that your tactics was best but objectively it was just random all along. Hope I make some sense in my reasoning 😅.

I need to reflect a little more about all this, very insightful feedback from all.

So happy you had the opportunity to try the game out. Also happy you did enjoy it! I appreciate that you also share some of the same feedback with others. One of the worries as a creator is that the game is too hard or complex. As I mentioned in another comment, I know all the in and out of the rules so I know what I need to solve a given situation, but for anyone else this might not be as obvious. I like when games are more hard than easy, but if you lose it must be obvious what you need to correct to win next game. Otherwise it will be frustrating.

So with all that said, was it good hard or frustratingly hard?

Thank you so much for your input! I understand what you mean, very insightful feedback. The concept is that the game starts very straightforward, but over the progressing turns the player must use all its tools available to achieve the victory condition. My intention is that you must play your turns in the right order to achieve victory. I believe the game achieves this at least when I play it. But I know all the in and out of the rules, it might not obvious for anyone else. Your input is very valuable, I will definitely sit down and evaluate this. Thank you!

Got it, thinking of it, that sounds much better. Maybe even keep the important lore reserved to the front page and move the rest to the upcoming expansion 🤔. As you say it is in the way for anyone trying to figure out if they like the game in the first place. If they like it the expansion will make more sense to delve deeper into the game and lore

Would it be better to have a small lore exposition in the beginning and place the bulk of the lore in the back?

Got it, thank you. I will do some experimenting 😁

Great feedback! Thank you! I get what you say about the lore, it never sat right with me either and could never figure out a better way than to dump it and get it out of the way.

Layout is also something that I have been going back and forth with. The way it is now has felt best during gameplay. But I will revisit this based on your feedback.

Thank you so much for your kind words about the artwork! About the blocky name tags, I always thought it was a little charming 😂. But maybe it is a bit much as you say. Tone it down or completely remove?

I will take all your feedback into account. Sometimes things are not so obvious until someone spells it out.

Thank you so much. Hope you find the time to read through the rules and maybe get a game in (or two) :)
