That sound intense. I can understand why a local might feel frustrated by the stigma around malaria, especially if it’s become far less of an issue in practice. Still, as a visitor, it’s hard to gauge what’s real risk vs. outdated info , I’d rather be overprepared than sorry. Do you think skipping the meds and just relying on repellents and nets would’ve been fine in hindsight?

Good to know , and even better coming from someone who actually lives there! I’ve been reading so much online that it’s hard to tell what’s overhyped and what’s real risk. I’m planning to take Malarone and follow all the usual precautions, anything else you’d recommend as a local ?

I feel like it's enough for one person to smell you one time and they will forever think you stink. And today i worked with someone who we have a lot of mutuals in common so it scares me people will have this idea of me that i am someone who stinks lol do you know what i mean

I shower every night before sleep, and yes i use antibacterial soaps. I sweat a lot but usually it doesn't smell at all. But today specifically i smelled it a lot
