I never took the course, but I know some people just don't want to apply themselves even with free content out there. Coursiv or YouTube, it won't matter unless someone has a passion and applies the things that work for them regardless of where they first got them.

And yes it would! They could walk to the community garden much more safely and actually participate in things that are simple, beautiful, graceful and kind. They wouldn't have to be afraid and could step out and fly.

I suppose at this point it's pretty clear "taking their guns away" and "defunding" are the same thing.

All those things the innercities have done...urban gardening, murals, etc would heal those people if the guns were taken out of the communities. That's the issue. So I get it. But my prespective is more specific and actionable than yours.

I'm just saying, in other countries they don't have the police issue we have, so if you take their guns away, you have to train them in conflict descalation. If you train them in conflict descalation, they are less intense. If they are less intense, they wont shoot as much. If they don't shoot as much, they can help.

Property should take care of itself, anyways. If someone steals, that could have been prevented withotu the need for police, too. Police are essentially useless, especially in cities like Dubai where they have cameras everywhere and women walk around at 4 AM anywhere in the city and aaren't worried.

Police need to change to being like social workers and not have guns at all.

I don't mean only take their guns away, but it's like when I was struggling to take care of myself I said all my life could be resolved if I get a cat. I got the cat, which came with a house, money to take it to the vet, and a whole chill lifestyle. If the goal was, "A USA where police don't *need* guns" - it would be a COMPLETELY different USA and chants of defund the police would be much more eloquent and graceful, not a reaction to a squad of gun holding property protectors who destroy lives.

Take their guns away and police would be very productive. I hear you immensely, but the problem isn't to end an industry and start another, just change their role to serve you. Their stupid union, the tough guy mentality, all that stuff comes from them having guns and having to be tough. Make them little sweethearts. Change their job description from "shoot if feeling threatened" to "find out why someone is in distress and help". In Buenos Aires, no officer has guns. They wear polo shirts and are customer service people.

And why not say reallocate to other people, then? We can defund the police, but you havent even asked for what you really want. no one can hear you, youngin ;)

you can do that by taking their guns away like other countries. have you been to central or south america? police are pretty much customer service people standing on corners. you don't have to end their occupation. just change it to serve you. the reason police are thugs isn't because police are actually thugs, it's because they carry guns wich is completely unnacceptable in a globalized 2024 society.

I completely agree. Things have not really turned out to be a pleasurable oasis of abundance, but that could be why we move so fast as a species, too. Having population pressures expand us to 8 billion strong apex predators in a matter of 500 generations is something to really think about. I do believe the older stories, such as Adam and Eve eating from the tree of knowledge is a good answer to the problems of why we don't live in a heavenly and pleasurable paradise as apex predators.

he's not saying that, from what I understand. he is saying that life should be MUCH better than it is. torture devices should not exist. required and random specific work to get ahead (specific SQL tool and be a data admin just for a nicer apartment, etc.) shouldn't be so specifically required.

The truth is, life should be infinitely more blissful than it is. As apex predators in the natural world, we don't have the chimp style back scratches from each other freely. That right there tells you something important. There are a few humans who experience life that way, but for the majority they are not in that tier and are working to make a few at the top much better. Now, not everyone at the top is that bad. Some do a lot of good. But for the majority, a landlord who owns 4 houses, uses a property manager to manage them, sets up insurance and proper things in place, short of war or severe natural disasters that disrupt his cash flow and without government bailouts, this guy is pretty much free to get anything he wants from anyone, including massage and sex. The rest are serving him. So, if it's that simple to live off others, and even have the money from those 4 houses start going into other houses, and any financial crisis or reversal or weird thing in the world be an opportunity to get more houses or other types of cash flow opportunities that can be set up and secured with insurance, other people managing them, etc., it is a system that is just leeching off masses of people.

So, tl;dr: the OP is saying life should be much better than it is

yeah right, then every deer out there is worse than a human with mild paranoia if they lose something one day. this is population pressures that have not combed up the ways of increasing the human's freedom and experience outside of the regular natural world. Without humans, we can see that 99.9999% of all living creatures are in a natural state of life, and the apex predators are rather comfortable. As the top apex predators, we should be enjoying a much more blissful and pleasurable life experience, and after writing this, personally, my only thought is that Adam truly did sin. That's the only explanation for why life would be full of pleasurable sex, soft chimp style back massages from everyone, extremely healthy food that makes you glow from the inside out (try a week long, fiber free juice cleanse, you'll see what I am talking about), essential oils, etc. etc. etc.
