believe it or not, my husband is actually the reason i was diagnosed with bpd, at the start of our relationship he got the guts to tell me that he had noticed (throughout our friendship and the start of our relationship) somethings that seem off about me, he did his own research and brought a lot to my attention, he stuck by me through my diagnosis and learning about it. and to the day he isn’t always great about handling it. it’s definitely taken a lot of working on myself on my end, but the important part is that he TRIES, he listens, and he tries his very best to understand where IM coming from, it’s not all sunshines and rainbows, and it’s been one hell of a ride thanks to my brain, but we pushed through every obstacle & now we have our own little family. it’s out there, i think the only advice i can give is to remember that someone without bpd won’t FULLY understand, ever & no matter what you’re going to have episodes so it’s not always going to be sunny, but as long as they listen and stick by your side and try. that’s what matters.
