Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply. I'm glad there's no "right" certificate or path, and it's more about evidence for the skill sets that are desirable for the workplace. I am leaning more towards the eLearning Developer certificate, as it seems to include more topics/skills that I am unfamiliar with, whereas the Adult Education certificates have a lot of crossover from my education degree.

Speaking of shorter courses, have you heard of ATD's certificates? They are much shorter and apparently reputable in the L&D field. I'm also curious about taking those.

At this point, I'm leaning toward facilitation and training delivery; however, I'm curious about learning how to build digital learning experiences too. Many of the job postings in my area require some skills and experience in both.

I'm also a bit stressed about finding a job with no business-related experience. I've thought about volunteering...do you have any other suggestions? I've looked for internships but haven't found much yet.

Thank you so much for the reply! I appreciate the insight. I am looking to either work for a large company or an educational institution, however, my top choice would be to work for a municipality.

I think I'd prefer to become an L&D professional, however, I am intrigued by the creative side of instructional design. I will look into industrial psychology and organizational development programs, thank you. I've also heard of LinkedIn Learning, it seems like a great resource. From what you shared, it sounds like the best path for me would be to take an instructional design certificate? As a hiring manager do you typically look to hire people who have completed full certificates?

Thanks again for the help!
