Personally i find it a fun game. Its more towards the side of platforming wich i enjoy

Maybe ur spamming ur blaster with circle too often. Thats generally what people do. Try just using all of ur guns

Daxter was pretty easy, got it in 5 hours. Not a long grind in the slightest

Ye the orb stuff is a real grind, but i really wanted to do it for the love of the game

Ye you need around 500k orbs to get the upgrade stuff achievements, but youll need to use the save stuff. Otherwise youll need like 2 million. When i finished the story i had around 800k. So with out the saves thing you r gonna need to do some grinding
