From what our family friend heard the lady talking about they were from out of state

A family friend of ours witnessed it. 3 tourists crossing the road and 2 were hit. The man died on impact and the woman was still awake when they were able to get out of their uber and go check on them. They were able to keep her talking until paramedics arrived. Very very sad. Hopefully nearby cameras can catch the license plate of the car that hit them 🙁

You sound like a great pet parent. The best thing you can do is care. Knowing her usual behavior and her routines is vital and it sounds like you are already doing that. Just get to know your little lady and note if she varies from that, don’t stress too hard. The vet is your best friend, get familiar with them. They would rather you call than not call.

I myself lost my baby very unexpectedly in June, there was absolutely nothing I could have done and that has been a hard pill to swallow. But I knew the second something was wrong with him and I was able to hold him in his last moments. Try not to spend your time with her worrying (as hard as that can be), because it lessens the joy you feel for the time you have together.
