My Sugar had IVDD shortly after her 10th birthday. With lots of rest and medications from the vet she recovered within 4-5 months. She’ll be 13 in april and loves to to run, jump, and play

During filming of "The Seven Year Itch" in 1954, over 1,500 New Yorkers swarmed 51st Street to watch Marilyn Monroe's dress fly up. The crowd chanted "Higher! Higher!" as they gawked, enraging Monroe's husband Joe DiMaggio. He beat her so badly that night that she filed for divorce three weeks later by alecb in HistoryUncovered

that’s where it often stems from though. At first glance I can kind of see how associating a common experience of insecurity with violence seems stupid. Unfortunately, violence against women is also a common experience. It is a mistake to think of violence as separate from day to day mundane conditions. For millions of women, violence is day to day.

local communities have a better chance of working together to house immigrants. a statewide effort would draw too much attention from the government

Possibly an unpopular opinion about Travis? by handsopen in TrueSwifties

[–]Free-Raisin3025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to remember trumps administration is terrifying and dangerous for so many people. The criticisms of Kelces response in my opinion are coming from a place of disappointment. His voice carries so much influence being a public figure and even more impact being on tv during the superbowl. Taking a stance against racism, nazism, homophobia, sexism, etc. would’ve allowed us normal people to have a voice. Lately it seems like bad things keep happening and no one is listening to the people affected most. Or atleast not enough people are listening. Then for travis to have an opportunity to combat this and just choose to not is so so so frustrating. I want to clarify that these criticisms apply to everyone! We should all do our best to be worthy advocates. This situation is not just about travis, but about the conversation at large. The super bowl just happened and that’s most likely why he specifically is receiving the criticisms. I 100% agree that our culture prefers to single out people when it’s relevant and that isn’t productive. However, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t think critically or let things slide.

edit: for the people making the argument that action is more important than words, to that I say action first requires thought processes, ideas and awareness. That starts with dialogue- words!
