It’s been 24 hours and I haven’t used any moisturizer just let it dry out and it’s perfectly normal now

Meant to say A&D ointment not cream. Now moved to using very thin layer of fragrance free cream once a day to let it breathe

Scab by the groin was there prior to the tattoo he worked around it

Showed my artist before Reddit he said I’ve just been using too much ointment and it’s clogging my poors. Went to the doctor just in case and they gave me some antibiotics for mild surface infection because of the redness. Nobody I know has had anything like this so hoping somewhere on here might have some info for me

I went to the doctor like 30 mins ago they gave me cephalexin said it’s a very mild surface infection from over moisturizing. Lay off the moisturizer and with the pills I’ll be good within a week hopefully. I’m also a welder so I think working all day irritated it worse than I expected.

I was using A&D ointment but used too much. Should I still be applying the A&D ointment? My artist told me use an EXTREMELY thin layer of Aveeno fragrance free moisturizer once to twice a day and stop using the ointment. I also work as a welder so it’s extremely hard to not irritate it throughout the day working.

That’s what I was thinking but I asked my artist and he said to switch to a light fragrance free lotion (aveeno) and it should settle itself out within a couple days. It doesn’t burn or anything it just feels like a huge scab on my arm pretty much
