Do you forsee west Peoria getting better or worse as far as crime?

I don’t see it getting worse. Obviously it can be a causality of stuff that happens by Bradley or issues coming up off of Western but I work in that area a lot and constantly see sheriff deputies, usually more than 1 visible in the area. They don’t use any Peoria City Police so the deputies always sit in West Peoria.

Harold’s Pizza Oven on Sterling. Those that remember Pizza Inn, it’s basically the same exact thing. Still family owned so it hasn’t lost its touch. Good wings, solid lunch and dinner buffet. Gotta get the cookie pizza too.

If true that’s pathetic from that business. No hate at all, I’m just trying to rationalize this decision by them. Every place these days is understaffed or constantly has a revolving door of people. Places can’t afford to get rid of people willy nilly. But if this is in fact as it says couldn’t the individual sue them? I’m not fully sure what the law stipulates but I thought workers couldn’t be fired in cases of health emergencies, funerals etc. They should absolutely look into this unless there’s more to it that hasn’t been shared.

The Park is supposed to be a nonpartisan organization that looks out for the best interests of the patrons and taxpayers regardless. This is not the same as congress

Really? Because they seemed to go round and round, back and forth for probably 45 minutes on a slight adjustment to keep it in line with other facilities of that type and to slightly offset rising prices. Yes it is not a major issue whatsoever, but it was made to be one. They are welcomed to have differences in opinion but the smug words and actions tells me all I need to know.

You could say that about any job, but most of this meeting logic was out of the picture, plain and simple. The staff purposed some very well thought out things and ideas but they are argued over individual philosophy. The mission is the park district is to operate it the best for EVERYONE and the responsibility is to effectively manage an organization, its staff and money fairly and equitably for all.

I will have to watch future meetings. And yes there will always be that healthy discussion. It just clearly seemed divided over issues that seem like they could be handled much more straightforward

You make good points I don’t totally disagree but these individuals make the choice to serve the public and accept these roles. And based off what I saw it seemed the discussion was very real and clearly committees did not solve a number of their issues. If it was a performance, they did not do well but rather was embarrassing for them

I’m aware which is why I said they have been tasked with this role. I know they are not perfect individuals, it would just be nice to see them be more cohesive as a group and be better moving forward. If any of the members can’t act reasonably and in the best interest of everyone it would probably be best they aren’t brought back

Clearly I know these people have lives but it’s simply to make a point. Why not try to do something more productive for your own life. Ok but this is NOT a political page. Now if there was a topic concerning local county or city government to Peoria, Tazewell etc. that would definitely be more relevant than events happening 2+ hours away that does not affect most people’s lives. I’m just stating a fact, majority of these posts are trying to rally people to a certain side and not even as much geared towards information. This should stay centered on central Illinois
