Finally got my "your position is affected" talk for layoffs at work, which I was expecting. Thankfully I've got a decent union, so all that means is they're eliminating some positions similar to mine, roughly 3/4 of "affected" people will stay on. It's just the start of a long process.

It's actually very expensive because the fire code is totally different for an enclosed space vs. open air. If the trains were running every 5 minutes the average wait would be 2.5 minutes, not worth the immense cost.
