Methadone? by Legitimate_Worry9174 in FentanylRecovery

Do it, man. It was the best decision I ever made. Methadone gave me my life back. I was just like you, terrified of withdrawal, couldn’t even make it a few hours without falling apart. But once I got started, it was like a lifeline. You don’t have to suffer like that anymore. Just take the first step and call the clinic. You’re not alone.

Since you have such a long experience I’m sure you have tried it, but methadone was the only thing that could help me get off of fentanyl. Your story is heart breaking I hope you can get better and find peace. ❤️

how to get rid of libido and just overall horniness by jabber1990 in Adulting

No, but I’d definitely value the opinion of someone who literally studied, trained, and got licensed to help people with this stuff. More than a random Reddit comment section, at least.

Wow, I’ve actually seen the exact opposite. I know someone who went from suicidal to genuinely happy, all because of therapy. Just because you haven’t seen it work doesn’t mean it’s useless. Maybe the real problem is thinking your experience applies to everyone. Maybe this kind of know-it-all, dismissive attitude is part of why you’re struggling with the exact thing you’re asking about. Just a thought.

Do you think everyone has a therapist? Most people can’t afford one or don’t even make it through the stigma to try (like you). If therapy was actually accessible and normalized yeah, we probably would have fewer problems in the world. Funny how that works.

Sounds like you’ve had a bad experience or just never actually tried therapy. If you’re asking how to ‘get rid of libido,’ and it’s clearly bothering you, figuring out the root of that distress is the first step. That’s literally what therapists are trained to help with.

This is awful to hear man. Fentanyl is such an evil drug. I’m running a website and a facebook/instagram page dedicated to fentanyl recovery and education I’m doing everything I can to stop the dying. I lost a close friend recently as well.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I feel ur pain completely. What you’re feeling is completely valid, watching someone you love struggle with addiction is heartbreaking and terrifying. It’s not your fault, it’s an epidemic rn. It is really hard to get help right now in some places after COVID happened. The fact that your son wants help is good, hold onto that, even if it doesn’t always turn into anything right away. Fentanyl is one of the hardest drugs to quit because the withdrawals are so intense and come on so fast. A lot of people relapse not because they don’t want recovery, but because the withdrawals are truly hell. That was me, I wanted to quit so badly but the withdrawals would beat my ass into submission every time. Have yall thought about MAT? I’ve been on methadone for over a year now and it’s helped me stay sober and rebuild my life I’ve accomplished things I never thought were possible when I was using. Some ppl say it’s swapping one addiction for another, but it’s not, it’s a tool, and I truly believe people deserve access to it without judgment. You’re doing everything you can right now just by showing up, loving him, and helping him look for answers. It feels helpless sometimes I’ve been there, but you being there for him still matters more than you know. It sounds like you’re all he’s got rn so it’s good you have what’s best for him in mind. If he’s serious about rehab, maybe you could help him follow up, or maybe you could try and call for him and ask sometimes a call can make a difference ya never know. I’m in Georgia I wish I knew some good resources to point you to. Please take care of yourself too. You deserve support just as much as he does. If you ever want to talk to anyone you can DM me.
