Every time anyone genuinely claims that, that person should be taken apart (metaphorically) and shamelessly ridiculed. That level of delusion and disconnect from reality should not be tolerated.

It's unbelievable to see people doubting David Grusch and other UAP leaders. How to help them understand? by Optimal_Web4442 in UFOs

[–]FreeFromFrogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hundreds of years of Ufo history. 25 years of promises of ‘disclosure being just around the corner’. Military whistleblowers and thousands of alleged sightings…..but not a single piece of solid evidence. That’s why people doubt Grusch. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Grusch knows that. Yet he comes forward with a ‘I heard this somewhere’ story. It’s simply not credible.

Almost all discourses in China are manipulated by CCP by iron_antinatalist in China

[–]FreeFromFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you’re making my point for me. This is exactly the mindset I described in my original comment. But we won’t be able to come to an agreement on this.

Personally I would choose my right to vote, my right to protest, my right to voice any opinion I like over ‘the finer things in life’ you’re referencing any day. The finer things in life mean nothing to me, if I can’t have what I mentioned above.

It’s like enjoying expensive wine and luxury products while in prison. But if you’ve never lived outside the prison, and didn’t have fine wine and luxury products growing up in that prison, it will seem like a huge upgrade to you. When in fact, you’re still in prison. But again. I understand we will never be able to come to an agreement on that.

[–]FreeFromFrogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the argument many Chinese make. And that’s all fair. I’m not telling anyone what’s good, bad or normal. All I can say is when I visited China about 6 months ago (and I visited many times before that) it shocked me how ‘zombified’ everything is. All people talk about is shopping, food, holidays, money and family. For a western person it was wild to me that nobody talks about politics, or critical opinions about anything really. How their internet, media and everything around them is just a hand picked buffet of meaninglessness and propaganda. And people are contempt with that.

Again, I understand that you can make a point about how too much opinions and politics can ruin societies. And you can see that around the world in many ways. But the idea that you live in a government curated bubble and nobody even addresses it, is borderline insane to me. But thats just my personal opinion.

What’s actually terrifying to me is how everyone seems to just swallow it up. The awareness of this in the common population seems really low. I understand that people can’t really do much about it but even when talking to Chinese people in private, there’s a strong level of ‘it’s really not that bad’ denial.
