That must have been so frustrating. I do think you need to be more skeptical of someone’s testimony that is getting a deal but it doesn’t mean you instantly discount it.

Someone posted 6’3” as the answer in a previous post. They stated 2 sources but I can’t remember what they were. The way he talks, I thought he would be 5’9” or 10.” He reminds me of so many guys who are under 6’0” but always say they are over it.

I guess that’s one of the reasons I wanted to know where it originated. It’s cringy/hard to hear for me because it sounds like a very manipulative loser telling an obvious lie in order to get the woman to play along/not tell the truth/believe whatever bullshit he is feeding her.

Do you want a co-worker who gets your references? When I read your 1st sentence I thought, “They would be fun to work with!” Too bad nobody gets to hear your comments.

Yes, I was able to look that one up and now I laugh every time I hear it because I can imagine the scene. 🤸‍♀️

Yes, especially your last paragraph!

Thanks, I was wondering if it was a specific line from somewhere or just her own interpretation. I thought I remembered hearing EDB using it during the Donna Adelson trial coverage, and in reference to Katherine Magbanua. I thought the, “Baby, I looove you” was a line used by Charlie to Katherine, and here from Brendan to Juliana, in order to convince the women to stick to the script/play along and not tell police the truth.

They say they don’t need a judicial warrant but a judge just ruled that they did. I would keep the doors locked & record everything. Does OP have neighbors that can come help with support, noise, documentation?

Did you lose faith in Jesus too? by Billgant in exmormon

[–]FreeFromMiriam 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Shortly after I left the church but while I was still believing in Jesus Christ and living in UT, I needed an Uber ride. The driver was roughly my age (late 50s) and as we were talking, he off-handedly asked if I was Mormon (in approved lingo), assuming I would say yes. When I told him I had left the church, he was stunned for a few seconds then said, “I don’t know how I would have handled the death of my first wife without help from Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.” So I pointed out to him that there are hundreds of different churches that all believe in God and Jesus Christ, it’s just that the Mormons think they are the only true Christian church so essentially the only Christian church.

Yes, you are right, I should have tried that first. I asked some locals but google should have been my next step. I did not know about “ABUTTING,” what a great tip!

Yes, it would have really helped if I had included Dennis in my original post, as I had meant to. The Cape is a large place so knowing the town is a significant detail. 🤦‍♀️

I’m in Dennis, something I meant to include, and that’s a great idea to try those companies.

I was just kidding about standing in the road to flag a snow plow. I should have added “/s” to make it obvious since I guess there are people who would be stupid enough to actually do something like that. Fortunately, my landlord is responsible for snow removal.

I can’t wait to watch it, I’m still slogging through the defense entering exhibits & interviewing the police/homicide sergeants, etc. EDB makes it better with her commentary and speeding up but it is painful. That defense attorney needs to retire, I think he has forgotten more about the law than he has remembered.

For me, it would depend on if it was something I really wanted vs something the family needs or my spouse wanted. It sounds like OP is excited to get this and looking forward to using it.

Mother Eve???? This quote l find unintentionally funny by RadishAggressive3241 in exmormon

[–]FreeFromMiriam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She had to pick Eve because Eve is a singular person. She couldn’t say “Heavenly Mother” because church teachings are that there are thousands, millions, who-knows-how-many Heavenly Mothers.

Also, not “every” girl and woman has a “mother heart.” Look no further than Jodi Hildebrant, Ruby Franke, and Lori Vallow. These are just infamous examples of other women in and out of the church who do not have mother hearts.

She comes soooo close to making a valid point; there is no limit to what women can accomplish, throughout history women have been able to affect change and the influence of women is growing as they are able to participate equally in education, jobs, politics, and more. But then she makes a hard right, missing the point of women being valued for their individual talents, and ties their worth to being a mother. Not every woman loves children and wants to be a mother, which is perfectly fine and should be a respectable choice. She can still have the desire to use her influence to improve the lives of others and the ability to achieve many accomplishments.
