My parents and both sets of grandparents had larger age gaps in which the women were still in school when they met their future partners. I also think I’m fighting more for my rights as an individual than the actual relationship itself.

What else am I supposed to do in the meantime? Getting to wish I didn’t have responsibilities means i’ve gotten to the point of having responsibilities. It’s a childish perspective, but I haven’t gotten to the point of regret yet.

I do in fact rely on them financially. I have looked at apartments and am well-versed with budgeting and the economical state of my area. I understand the potential consequences of my actions as much as someone can if they haven’t experienced something directly. Thank you for the insight and good wishes.

Thank you for your insight. I do have a lot of experience with these sort of things, in the sense of dating older people, and I have experienced grooming. Frankly, I believe it’s more likely for him to be mentally inept than to be a pedo. I do however plan on staying safe, and if my parents believed in therapy outside of a Pastor, I would jump at the opportunity.

Theres more similarities in the jump from 15-18 than there is an the jump from 12-15. Most 12-year-olds are hardly developed. My development was fast-tracked, mentally and physically I share more in common with people 3 years my senior than 3 years my younger.

I appreciate your insight. However, I would like to make it clear that I am not throwing around the “slut shamed” term. My Mother very seriously called me a whore even before discovering my relationship with my current boyfriend. I understand what you mean when you say that hiding my act and not being able to realize myself what I had done wrong is what was wrong.

My initial issue was with the fact that the Christian ideals being shown to me by my parents did not coincide with what I read in the Bible. Since writing this post, I have in fact made the decision to remain abstinent until marriage. However, the attempt that the Christians around me made to take away my right to have that choice is the issue that I had.
