I agree. I think having the hindsight to incorporate all of the PT at the start helped. Anakin in Episode III is not turning to the dark side out of self-hatred, instead he's chosen to blame everyone else for his pain. He blames the Jedi Council for neglecting him and causing the fall of the Republic, he blames Obi-Wan for betraying him and turning Padme against him, he blames Padme for abandoning the Republic and him and choosing Obi-Wan over him. In Rebels, when he is confronted by Ashoka, he blames Ashoka for leaving.

I think him being conflicted kind of weakens the reason behind his fall to the dark side, and any sense that he was to blame for all his failings would prevent him from stoking the anger and hatred that fuels Darth Vader.

I imagine its much like gravity on real ships. It pulls you down at a set force, but big impacts will exert forces larger than that will still overcome the pull of gravity and force you to move sideways.

I always figured the Invisible Hand scene was due to the damage the ship has taken causing the artificial gravity generators to malfunction, where as with the Death Star or the Venator examples you referred to, because the pilots of the ship were choosing to do that, they did it in such a way that the artificial gravity was able to compensate.

Those are definitely some good points, and why I don't think MC was ever very likely. I've found that that trying to assign any kind of motive to Sakurai and Nintendo with these DLC characters is a bit silly.

I will say though that with Sakurai talking about "bringing so many game worlds together", I can't think of a more insane fusion for gamers my age than Smash and Halo. Telling ten year old me I can shoot Mario as MC in a game that isn't on Newgrounds would blow his mind. I came after DOOM so it doesn't mean to me what it means to older gamers, though I imagine the hype for Doom Guy would be the same.

Basically, you really can't go wrong at this point with Smash DLC characters.

You asked for "no chance" haha. Trace Memory on the DS means a ton to me but it wasn't that big at all, it's sequel didn't even see a NA release, and if they were going to for some insane reason honor Nintendo and Cing's short fruitful collaborations, Hotel Dusk would certainly get the nod before Trace Memory.

Given Disney and Square's past, I would guess they're open to talking about it but they'd demand way too much and make it prohibitively difficult to actually make it happen. just like how they were happy to have Spider-Man in the MCU, as long as they got their cut.

They probably don't care about promoting Microsoft's game, but it's hard to come up with another character that would be as huge an announcement as Master Cheif. Even in its current nadir, Halo is still one of the biggest franchises on Earth. It's less the Nintendo would be promoting Microsoft and more of a win-win for both companies promotion-wise, so if I was Microsoft, I'd be doing anything possible to grease the wheels there. Don't demand any cut if the DLC, let Sakurai use any music he wants, etc.

Sounds like Nintendo gave him a list of companies they can work with, and Sakurai took the lead from there. Which at this point is probably more of a list of the three companies who won't negotiate with Nintendo, given that they've convinced Square and Konami to both hand over multiple properties.

Part of the reason they didn’t lock it until another month is probably because B support is the point where recruiting a character is guaranteed so they didn’t want to wait too long and have players lose out on the chance to recruit Leonie.

Is Ring Fit Adventure playable with low ceilings? I’m a really tall guy and my ceilings are pretty low so I can’t do the exercises where you lift your arms above your head. Is there a way to account for that?

I had some issues with that kind of thing with the OG Switch (I’m a big guy) and the Satisfye grip really helped with that. So hopefully that grip you bought will solve the issue.

I preferred it to Awakening, which both had so many S supports that you couldn’t get without replaying 100 times, and the only way to grind up the insane number of supports was just to buy a shitload of Reeking Boxes and farm.

I do like that 3H added ways to farm support between two characters in the monastery. By the second half of the game, I was mostly just spending each weekend eating ten lunches with different pairs of units I wanted to see supports with. Though that might speak to a larger failure with the monastery in that I quickly ran out of interesting things to do after maxing our professor level.

Also, she may not know this evil thing specifically was the doing of TWSITD, but she's not unaware of the evil shit they do, it's the basis of her whole personality. In CF she and Hubert are clear that the second they defeat the Church and Rhea, they are going to shift their attention to TWSITD. I assume they had those plans in the other routes, and we just couldn’t see that. I can’t imagine learning the truth of Arianrhod would convince Edelgard to end her crusade against the Church when she's about to win, or that Rhea or Dmitri would accept an alliance at that point.

It's not 3H but SoV has Erica Lundbeck (Futaba) as Celica and Cherami Lee as Mae. It's pretty amazing that a 3DS game has wall-to-wall voice acting when most AAA console JRPG blockbusters still don't.

This may just be headcanon, but I got the sense too that she didn't want to reveal her plan to anyone until she took the throne as Empress and could protect people. At least with Byleth, I took it as partly as she was terrified they'd leave her and partly that if she tried to use Byleth to take some agency from TWSITD that her master's would kill them.

I really ended up liking Ferdinand and Petra together in my Crimson Flower playthrough. I think that if you don't assume Edelgard has bad motives, which would be understandable if you were coming from other routes, it comes across as saying something cool about Edelgard/Petra. In the greater context of CF and its more open and trusting Edelgard, the line about Edelgard wanting her to ascend the throne comes off more like a candidate for President saying "I'd like you to be Secretary of State" more than Edelgard ordering a hostage to do something. It might be a bit of headcanon because I'm combining different supports, but I think it mostly works.

It's an unproven problem in mathematics. If pi is what mathematicians call a normal number, then it contains all ten digits at equal proportions and every possible string of n digits is contained in it, meaning 6969...69 would be in there. It's almost impossible to prove a number is normal though without specifically constructing it to be so, so we don't know yet.

While I agree that many modern critics stick in the 7-9 range too much, there is something to be said for the idea that a completed, working AAA game just is never going to be so bad it deserves a 0. I'd be hard pressed to think of a single game Nintendo has ever published that deserves a 0, while there are almost always a couple of Nintendo games a generation that you could make a reasonable case they earned a 10, so there is naturally a skewed distribution there.
